Default NJ Tint law questions

So, I live in South Jersey and have my back and rear windows at 20% tint. I would like to do the front windows, but that is against the law. has anyone had any experience tinting the front windows inNJ? what are the fines like and how likely is it to get pulled over? any thoughts are appreciated!

well, i wimped out and didnt get the fronts done yet. It would make my car look so much better, but I am having a hard time justifying paying 75$ and possible getting pulled over and fined. Has anyone gotten fined in their respective states?

well my friend had front 5% on his eclipse, he got pulled over about 30 times in the coarse of a 6 or 7 monthsnever got a ticket, in Jersey it is illegal, but a secondary offense, so the cops look for any reason to ull yu over first then, give u a ticket for the tints along with whatever else you did. So if you stay clean and safe, cops wont bother you but they will tail you and you'll notice the extra attention they give you.

Actually, a lot of officers will pull you over for tint with the hopes of finding something else. Sure they will normally find nothing and give either a verbal or a fix-it ticket, but if you don't look shady as hell they don't bother you.

Default tinting

I just got scion tc 2007 black cherry. I just want to ask. Im thinking of tinting my car, Should i get 50% tinted or 90 percent tinted in the front side window? would it look bad if i did 10 percent in both back window and the rear window?

i have the lightest tint in the front windows that u can get and I've been pulled over twice for them, but the cop just tells you to take it off and I haven't gotten a ticket yet (knock on wood). But i think the tc's look a lot better when all your windows are tinted and not just the back.

I had a civic with 20% all around and I only got pulled over once in the 3 years i had it. you just need to know the places you can and cannot go and don't be an idiot about it. I'm getting my Tc tinted in a few weeks I'm just going to go with a 35% cause the cops will let you get away with that. PS stay out of highland park with tints those cops suck I think my ticket was $35 so no big deal

Limo tint on the fronts and 20% everywhere else. I like my privacy. What kills me, is when im stopped somewhere ( WaWa ) the GF is getting ciggs and some one will come right up to the drivers window and place one hand on the glass in order to see in. They still cant see me sitting in the car. The looks on their faces when my window goes down ... priceless. LOL

i just recently recieved my first tint ticket last 4th of July. $56 in Howell Twnshp. But i still have my tint ( knocks on wood ).

It's not a Scion, but I have my truck tinted 5% all the way around even on top of the fatory tinted windows. I also have my front windshield tinted 35% from top to bottom.
I've been lucky so far (knock on wood) I've gotten one ticket in the corse of 1 year. I had the same layout in my VW Jetta GLI and I got 8 tickets in less than 1 year. It's seems like cops don't bother with big trucks in my area.

Jersey is ___ with auto laws sometimes and the roads are crap. But yea anything on the front is a big no no, and probably gonna be a ticket. They also are HUGE attention getters for cops. Whatever, who cares..

oh and btw anyone in jersey need any tint smoked headlights or tails?? i can hook you up...
