Took me about 30 mins to do my gauge cluster when I got my 08. HVAC takes longer. My first time took me 3-4 hours, but I really took my time. I rushed my 08 lol, that's why one of my center LEDs went out/loosened up/something. What you want to do, is get the diagram and map out what LEDs you want where. I [bHIGHLY[/b] suggest doing all white for the gauges, then using filters to adjust color. If you use colored LEDs, you're stuck with that color.

Trust me. Use filters. If you want it all blue, use white LEDs and blue filters. That way if you ever want to change it, you can just take the faceplate out and change the filter. You'll never have to do any soldering. All white = endless possibilities. All blue = One possibility.

I think it was $50 for my first kit, which was cluster+HVAC+resistors+thingy for the HVAC. I just moved my LEDs from my 05 to my 08, so that only cost me nothing, but I got the HVAC done professionally, so that was like $30 I think.

Its really easy Fab. I did mine myself. The hardest thing is not to fry the LED which is really really easy.

Hey question,

I bought hyper white led's for my HVAC and decided against the install
Can i use those for my 05 xB gauge cluster?

Or are those bulbs different?

Thx!

You're asking the wrong person for that one... I have no idea about the xB. I know that the tC uses the same board-mounted LEDs for the cluster and the HVAC...and then it uses even smaller LEDs for the radio.

Your best bet is to PM Garage1217 and ask him. He's one of the original LED swappers.
