IMO our world would work better if our younger generation (i'm 46) showed a little more respect for those who came before you. You don't have to be a conformist but you may want to try and show the results of the education you've received so far. People will judge you by the words you use and how you spell them.
Your my dad's age.......
I don't see why the older generation post to car club forums?
My dad's to busy with work and kicking it with his friends and family....plus he drives a 05 Chevy Z71 and makes fun of my ride all the time.....
No disrespect intended.

Neo....do your research my friend. You dream is attainable but it is going to be tough.

There is a lot of experience in these forums and it would be in your best interest to take some of their considerations into account.

If your like me and only have one thing on your mind...(vagina)...think about how much more you could pull by having a Lexus or Benz with all of this money you are planning to invest in a Scion....

Check this out bro.....

Miniballin.....for a 20 year old you would be doing great with this ride...

No disrespect taken. There are a lot of us over 40 on these posts becuase we have a vested interest in our Scion's as do you. My xB is more of a hobby than anything else. It's much the same as the time I spend surfing with younger people. Not all understand or appreciate that we are out there on "their" waves but a few grasp the experience we have and enjoy sharing the space. As much as I've tried to avoid saying things to my kids that my father said to me while I was getting older (haven't grown up yet) sometimes I just can't help myself..."someday you'll understand".

Thanks for supporting this youngster in his endeavors and for you kind comments towards him.

listen to the words of this man!!!! he is one of the few and many that have went the route of forced induction and it is one hell of a bumpy road!!! hahaha but a sweet ___ mod if you ask me!!!

ok, I'm going to you right now, I've been working on import cars for years now as a garage enthusiast. You won't hit 400 hp on a stock block, unless you dump at least 20k into the motor itself. You would have to replace the sleeves, pistons, rods, crank, port and polish/build the head, upgrade your entire ignition AND fuel system, swap out your intake manifold with a custom one that's built specifically for your car, plus run the manifold, turbo, piping, intercooler, replace the ecu, tune it, etc. That doesn't even include all the smaller crap, like upgrading every single gasket, oil pan, tapping your oil pan, running all the oil lines for the turbo, and many many other items that have to do with the results you want. After that's done, you would have to have a custom tranny, built, stiffen all the suspension, and chassis, and then go on to replacing axles, and probably hubs if you're planning on launching this unattainable beast. I drive an xB, believe me I've looked at what you can do to the stock motor, and the aftermarket for major performance is just not out there. Do yourself a favor, and shoot for pure bolt-ons, as these will not have you blow thousands of dollars into a worthless motor.

Funny thing is even if you got close you would never pass emissions. Therefore all that money down the drain for a track car that you probably couldn't afford after paying back your loans. Grand idea but seriously, let it go and buy something that already has that power or easy to attain. Just my 2 cents, and based on your post I don't think your parents will give you the funds.

400 is fairly easily attainable on the new boxes, but a first gen box would take extreme modifications...

There allready is a 400 hp xb , actually mabey it is 500 i cant remember, however... its not the stock engine it is a beast, the xb with the huge engine was in a scion magazine i think it was either last spring or last falls issue, it has a massive retarded pait job though, but um as far as getting 400 hp out of the stock engine, you can try, and you might achieve it but you going to ruin your engine the first time you do and then all you have is your "wreked vehicle that your parents wanted for you to begin with, ohh and you spent a ton of money on it. sorry

you cannot make 400hp out of the 1nzfe. plain and simple. Especially "step by step" every part has to work together. the compression ratio to run that high of boost would be so low that without the enurmous turbo required it wouldnt run. the amunt of fuel required wuld require a aftermarket fuel cell, pump, lines etc. You either make 400hp or you dont, and it will nt make it on pump gas. The reason yu see so much hate is because you seem like a ricer. Go buy an old civic and put a wing on it with some NOS and tell everyone you make 400 hp with your single cam Vtec.

if anything he should start showing some technical data supporting its attainability. IE airflow requirement in cubic feet per minute, which turbo could supply this, fuel requirements and what size fuel injectors he would use, and what size fuel pump and brand he would go with. where this huge turbo would be located. so-on and so forth. id start small like 180-200hp then expand off that platform. it will be a journey to get to that level but then that would show he knows what hes doing at least a little im not bashing im just making some suggestions but you guys were pretty harsh. you probably scared him off. lol
