Also hows the area. I don't really care for the school only. Right now I'm going to a very respected school but can't stand it because of the area. So the location matters as well.

Hey, I just found this thread. I graduated from RIT in August. I was there for all 4 years. I started off as an IT major then switched into the business program. I hate hate hate Rochester with a passion and I didn't get much assistance by way of tuition from the gov. but the school itself is good. I'd kill for Daytona beach right now...haha.

^^ Interesting. Why did you hate Rochester? For me I'm a snowboarder, I used to go snowboarding every single weekend so you can imagine how much Daytona Beach is gonna suck for me. What didn't you like about it? Was it the people that went there? What are they like?

If i go to Boston were chillin Dave lmao. Yeah so far I got 6 schools picked out.
RIT,RPI, which yeah is expensive a f0k, Wentworth, Northeastern, and if I can't go to any of those I'm gonna go local to my house and go to either Stony Brook or Hofstra.

Dave. What does your friend like about Wentworth

I mean I had someone tell me they love riddle but as everyone knows, different strokes for different folks. The quality of the school is important but so is its surroundings.

I graduated from Wentworth in '04 for Computer Engineering. It was pretty good; lots of practical knowledge and learning by experimenting and building. Nice surroundings for a city setting, but like any city setting you have to be careful.

I graduated from RIT in 2003. I liked the school, and I hated Rochester a lot around the time I moved away (in 2004), but over the last couple of years, I've come to appreciate it more. I'm actually looking to move back to Rochester, because I made a lot of friends in my time there (who never left), and am still familiar with the area.

There's culture and nightlife if you bother to leave the campus (which is out in the suburbs)-- that's how most people end up hating RIT. They don't ever go anywhere besides the chinese buffet down the street, yet have the nerve to complain. Rochester's not a big city, but it's not a bad place. I mean, you can't expect a declining upstate city to be particularly cosmopolitan, after all.

No matter where you end up, your experience is exactly what you make of it. Don't be a boring stick in the mud, and you'll have a good time, and learn something on the side,

For what it's worth, you have to travel a good 1-1.5 hours from Rochester to ski/snowboard, because the city is in the middle of a huge flat area south of Lake Ontario.

^^ hmmm interesting. Thanks for the input guys. I think I'm gonna be staying in Daytona Beach for now. I will apply to a few schools and see how many credits they take and what they offer me. I might be going New Zealand for study abroad so well see how it goes.

well this year was my first year at nyit as an incoming freshman...not alot of white kids here not gonnna like my roomates from india. i am not a racist but my room smells like my heads inside an elepahnt _______.

as far as the school. the dorms are off campus its a 3mile drive but can take upto 15mins and there are buses here that goto the campus but they only run once every hour.

as far as the dorms. campus securtiy is the police..like guns and badges...the dorms are set up as suites..so u have 5 or 6 suite mates...ive had successful parties non the less :-0
not many girls either but it is a tech school..however personally i know alot of people over at CWpost which is on the way to nyit from the dorms..you have to pass it to get to class...
very nice town...i pass by ferraris phantoms lambos on the way to school literally everyday..mad gold digger milfs...

uhh as far as the education. i started off from nothing...
i just finished C++ coding a robot with infared sensors and a buzzer and im one of the head chairs as a freshman on the BAJA SAE team and if u dont know what that is check out my website.

not a huge school youll run into ur friends alot on campus...as far as snowboarding...every mountians about a hour+ away however im going on a trip with this one frat $60 transportation and food provided and i know many kids who i will be carpooling with to go snowboarding.

staffs cool...some teachers dont speak the best english though...

anything else? lol

oh yea and tuition...mine was kinda pricey...but i got 12k scholarship from them..sooo that helped they give out alot..
