Southeast PA General Discussion - NJ/DE/MD welcome too!
probably not now, because james refuses to work on it.
so at it sits now.... I'm out a good amount of cash, have broken equipment, and james/clear star wont do anything about it.
Great when a company stands behind its work....

yeah, it came from him like that. the vents didnt even fit back in, they're just stuck in there for the show.
he had it back for a couple days again, and the crack was fixed, but when i picked it up, the vents didnt fit in and there was paint and bondo on my screen. he painted it wtih the screen in it, and left all the electronics attached. only taped off the surface of the screen, but missed parts....
yeah, we did have a good relationship.....
glad to see what happens to people after you help their business grow.

there lies the problem. Paying james in cash, didnt get any receipts.
They're also a not for profit orginization, so they most likely wont get the desired results.
Next step is a letter from my attorney, CC'd to the State attorney general.

The other side of the story
Today Clear Star calling Jim back and said we wouldnt not be working on his touch screen anymore for reasons below, but if he had a problem with other things we would send them out for warranty no problem, such as the 3yr old alarm that was inquired about.
Just so you know the choice to not work on it anymore was becuase you "JIM" would blame me "ClearStar" if your used 10" touch screen didnt not work properly when complete.
As seen above the blame is arleady being put on Clear Star why would I want to continue doing anything? Especially when....
And by good amount of money you mean $100 Which a can of bondo cost $46 these days, sand paper, paint, back straps, time?
Most custom dashes involving cramming a 10" screen in a 7" hole would cost on average $500 to do it the right way and would take a week.
As the drama unfolds on the "internet" Clear Star does stand beind its work and doesnt having a problem doing so as long as it is in best intrest of the business. The amount of hook ups and free things that have been done for you has reached a limit where its not helping anymore.
Clear Star has given you enough equipment accomedations and enough free labor just to you turn around and try to sell it for more then you paid for it enough times. (Everytime you sell stuff we are losing a finished car, a potential customer, time and money)
If anyone would like to measure the distance between the vents from the back of the dash its quite obvious that a 10" screen wont fit properly which was stated from the begining.
As far as helping the business grow you may have helped in the past but as time goes on Ive been hearing more and more rumors and bad mouthing in the last few weeks which helped in this final desicion.
This thread was brought to my attention so I figured I post the shop side of the story becuase when people complain there is tons of other factors left out. As a shop like I said we stand behind our work and have money good relations with people and think this is the first person we have ever had a problem with. But I seem to not be the only one who refused to work with Jim.
This is all that will be posted and it doesnt need to go any further then this. I have said what is needed to be said on behalf of Clear Star and will not be discussing this any further.
Sorry & Thanks

James, thank you for posting the shops side of the story.
a good amount of money, yes. the labor, the TS which doesnt work anymore, and a cup up modified dash.
Talking to Clear Star today, I was told that your custom work doesnt have any type of warranty on it.
The only thing I have sold that I've gotten through clearstar was my last trunk setup, which we traded a computer for the enclosure. I purchased all of the subs and amps on my own. That trunk setup was sold back in december.
I'm sure theres more, but I cannot think of it at thhis time.

and james, i really do appreciate the time you spent telling me about the problems you've had with me and how i've been doing my things.
Its great to see you had a nice conversation with my girlfriend about it.... cant even try and talk to me about it?
I've tried numerous times the past couple weeks to talk about things. The phone calls. Hell, even last friday, i came to talk, tried to set something up to go out after work, get away from the shop enviroment and talk about whats going on, and what do you do? Answer your cell phone when i'm talking to you and completely ignore me.
Thanks for that.
