tested and working on my laptop, and the carpc before it was molded. Dash was purchased from a salvage yard, only issue with dash was a scuff on the lower silver part, drivers side.
well if it worked before hand and wasnt cracked before hand whats the problem? if i brought my car to get my windows tinted and got it back with a cracked windshield and a blown power window motor guess who is going to be fixing it. though my car is "used" so maybe it doesnt count?

I think if james explained to you and you knew that it was a custom fit job that there was potential risks for something not so go right. If you knew and understood that i can see why he wont fix it because it obviously will not work right

going custom is always a risk, but i had faith in his talents. Hell, he was the first person to do suicide doors on the east coast. I honestly thought it would have turned out better than it did. I know what kind of work he's capable of, and honestly, my dash looks like it should have never left the shop.

Looking at the picture, you see a strip of the fuzzy side of velcro. that was stuck from the dash to the screen (created pressure points on TS too) to cover up the gap.

Jim here's a link for a guy who is STILL puting a 10.4 inch in the same car as you. Dude he's up to page 9 on details and still hasen't fully fit it in yet.
10.4 inch 2006 xb This dude is been trying this since 1/13!!

Hell I went through 3 touchscreens when I did the 8 inch in my old XB, and that was done by James also.

I don't want to get in the middle dude.

Also, thanks for the link steve. i'll tell him what i've been through, and what to watch out for.

Looking though that thread though, james' project was easier on my car, because he didnt have to worry about fitting the factory bezel for the TS into the dash, since he didnt have it. it would have been a lot easier to make a new (flat) bezel, and mold that into the dash, rather than keeping the curve of the dash and sticking the screen behind it.

Sonya, no worries. It wasnt you i was talking about talking to james, it was my other girlfriend (i kid i kid)
