I've never had a problem with my Injen CAI, going on 4 or 5 years now and I don't have fender liners or splash guards

Good call, my mistake. Wouldn't it be unfiltered air getting in then though?

DUDE . it's a foam filter element . it's not as good of a filter as a cotton gauze element but it still filters the air , one could use k&n air filter oil on it lightly so as to trap more dirt !

From my previous life in the ATV world, there are Outerwares which are "WR" water resistant. If you already have one, you can treat it with 3M Scotchgard, for the same effect. Note: water resistant doesn't equate to water proof.

Works great during 2 hr woods endurance races.

I hydrolocked and probably did deserve it. $7500 later and a month later the car was running again, moral of the story just run the SRI. I know people are going to flame and be you can use a CAI just as long as your cautious and buy a bypass. Save yourself the money and just go SRI there are no power difference.

Actually there is a very significant power difference between a CAI and SRI (aka HAI). Colder air makes more power than hot air, plain and simple. Of course SRI dyno results can appear good since the hood is open and there is a big fan blowing cool air to the SRI.
