Default Self Service Auto Garage in the Bay Area, CA?

I heard from a friend that there are garages around LA that allow people to rent a small work area with tools. Is there something like that in the Bay Area?
I live in South San Francisco and I am pretty much willing to drive up to Berkeley or down to San Jose.

THANKS MUCH, mike

Actually I heard there's a car club in SF that offers a whole warehouse for working on yuor car. They come with lifts and tools and everything you need.

I think it's this place here....

How much work are you talking about? What exactly do you want to do? Are we talking like... engine swap? new tranny? body work? or are they simpler stuff like springs, intake, headers, exhaust, etc.

its for my friend's integra. we are just going to do a simple cold air intake install. its just that if i can find a place with tools it makes the job a whole lot easier.

I think the reason you don't see many of them is due to insurance issues - Someone gets hurt you have to hope they don't sue you...

Having a full garage with lift, air, welding, etc is going to be pretty pricey in the city. I think the club you were talking about shut down because not enough people were willing to pay the membership fee.
