that is correct sir.
the door will not open from inside or outside.
i don't know for sure, but the guy from toyota said the actuator that controls the lock shorted out. so that's really all i have to go on

heh? I'm pretty sure you can unlock/lock the door manually even when there's no battery connected. Have you tried putting the key in the keyhole and turning? If you want somebody to take a look for cheap SqualHeart can take care of ya. He's taken many many many doors apart.

well.. if you can't get the door open at all... wtf?
yea.. that's just bad.

there has to be another factor that's playing to have it like that. any mods in the door panel? at all?

i can take a look at it and perhaps i could figure something out that you couldn't.

Default Strange.

I've never heard of anything that extreme happening before, but I'm no expert.

However, I had something similar happen to me last night. I got in my car, locked the doors, then realized I forgot my iPod in the house. So I tried to unlock the doors & the button wouldn't work. I leaned over to the passenger door & tried to unlock it from there - no luck. So I manually unlocked it, got out & pressed the button to re-lock it. It would lock, but not unlock with the button. So I closed the door, went inside, came back outside & unlocked the door with my key. After that I could lock & unlock my car with the button. Any reason that both front driver & passenger wouldn't unlock just that once?
