Underbody kits and the tickets involved...
Today while driving down 19th Ave. I was pulled over for Vehicle With Unlawful Lamps. I had my Varad underbody kit strobing and of coarse every cop in the neighborhood was sitting on 19th looking for speeders . Since the law says if they are not required to illuminate the road you can get a fix-it ticker for them and voila I was pulled over. Now I've got a violation for the f'ing lights and who knows what I need to do to get this thing signed off or fixed or whatever the case might be. The vehicle code was 24003 Vehicle With Unlawful Lamps (colored running board lights). How do I find out if this is a correctable violation? Where do I get something like this signed off? Can I get it signed off?

Yea, it says correctable, but he wrote down some bizarre address for registered owner (he put toyota motor corp) and then for the mailing address he wrote down one of my old addresses and crossed it out and wrote the new one in there. All in all there are like 8 mistakes on the ticket, I am thinking there is like a maximum of three before it gets dismissed?

that ticket is false. at least in california. i was pulled over for unlawful lamps. so i decided to break out the old vehicle code. and in the vehicle code, it IS legal to have underbody glow, but ONLY if the light is dffused off of the road, and there is no direct lamplight of over .01 candelera. so if they are tucked away, to where at eye level you cannot see the lamps, and the light is diffused off the ground, or "glowing". *and is not a police color* it is perfectly legal. i won my case.....

it's actually 0.05 candela/sq. in.:
that light output.... it about the same as a watch with indigo lighting.... most if not all underbody kits output obviously higher than that.
with any type of underbody lighting.. it's best that you never turn them on while driving. esp. strobing.

well if you go in to fight the ticket, the judge isnt gonna go otu with a candelera meter to check your vehicle, n i couldnt even find anyone with a meter that could measure it. if you go in hard up, showing them you know your crap, theyll fold haha. maybe not for strobing tho :/
