did it just slide against something or flip on a side?? that blows....

for a small door issue i'd say the toyo/scion dealer ship in burien did a good unnoticable job on my car... but i dunno about that much damage and that color..... thats gonna be tough... and i'd screen who ever you end up with pretty good

check out West Coast Collision Center and Custom paint. They are painting the flames on our Scions, and since the car is getting painted anyways, might as well ask them if they'll cut you a deal on a sweet paint job.

Default penny on ice

thanks for all your kind thoughtful support. i was going down a side road after work on wed the 27th and hit some black ice in a corner that was shaded all day, and had not melted like the rest of the roads i was driving on all day at work. i usually go that route to wind down from 10hrs of driving in crazy traffic. and it just didn't occur to me it might still be icy. i left the road sideways at @ 35-40mph heading for a 100ft 2-21/2 ft thick maple tree and a small telephone pole (6-8inch thick), must have been a guardian angle in passenger seat as somehow the car caught the guy wire for the pole and bounced through the space between the tree, pole and guy wire not directly impacting either. the worst damage was from guy wire going down entire drivers side. the front damage on both sides is from bouncing on pole and initial impact from guy wire .

My thoughts after having major damage to my '05 BSP xB...

1) Get several quotes
- Thoroughbred Collision Centers are my body shop of choice but they are a little spendy...http://www.thoroughbredcc.com/
- Burien Toyota Body Shop
- Others of your choice

2) Try to get it totalled out...it doesn't end up in the same condition after that kind of damage.

3) My experience:

I took my '05 BSP xB to the Burien Toyota Body Shop with the hope and belief that they would be the best to repair Scion which is such a new make...

Ours was rear-ended at 65mph on the freeway and then when it spun, the same driver T-boned the drivers side. We had damage to the front left & right bearings from impact, driver's door, B-pillar, rear driver's door, C-Pillar, rear-driver panel, rear left wheel, D-pillar/rear bumper was crushed in, trunk, and left taillight.

They underbid the damage to our insurance company at $8600...in the end it cost over $14,000. We were without our box for 8 weeks (including going over our rental car insurance cap and having to pay out of pocket). We then had to TAKE IT BACK THREE more times because they had not fixed major problems like the bearings or the rear hatch not closing/locking right.

I will say that the Burien Toyota BODY SHOP was unprofessional, seemed as if they were cutting corners, didn't have good customer service/timeline updates like other dealerships offer (like Doxon which gives updates to expectations), and in the end...when we bought our RS3 xB from another dealership they were even threatening and agressive!

The only plus is that they are the only ones that you will be able to get Toyota OEM parts for your box rather than the generic stuff that other body shops might go with.

In the end we just ended up selling it at a $3000+ loss becuase it was still having problems that we could never resolve.

that color will mtch piece of cake. the paint shop just orders it premade to perfection. i dunno where you going to take it but no paint shop will be able to make it out of their own mix rooom. goodluck on the repairs...hope all goes well. if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

Steve...I was down at Doxon on Friday and they have two of the Torched Penny about to be delivered...one auto & one manual. Just thought I'd let you know in case you had to see about replacement.

In addition...for those interested...they have:

2 Torched Penny RS4 xB
1 Envy Green RS3 xB w/ all the TRD dealer stuff & approx 7500 miles
2 Stingray Metallic RS3 xA
AND they are taking deposits for the new RS3 tC
