Steve...my insurance inspector quoted us $4000 for repairs...they always low-ball. What did TCC quote for the repair? Is it reasonable?

Default argghhhh

i hate to wait, another 2-3 weeks and the rental runs out in 8. i wont be able to afford 35.00 a day for the rest of the time my car is being fixed. the shop called out the inspector to show the extras he missed. they said up to 7500.00 now w/ mechanical not added if any.

Ouch...I knew they were low-balling on purpose. We were out the car rental money too. Our xB was in the shop for 6 weeks (we maxed out our insurance at 30 days) and after paying for the 5th week in rental fees we just went out and bought the green box because we figured two week's rental = one month's car payment.

You should be able to negotiate a better car rental rate. Toyota Rent-A-Car even gave us $22/day for the Carolla. Sometimes if you get the lower rate the insurance will allow extra days because you haven't reached the cost cap yet.

I'm hedging a bet that when all is said and done your $7500 will balloon up like ours did.

man that really sucks hope things work out for you. If they lowball you like that and it turns out to be so much...couldn't you just argue that it was basically totalled and possibly get something out of that?
