===> Somebody make the reservation at Sequest if they haven't already! The big covered area with the fireplace and power. <===

I'm in. I'll hold down the fort at the picnic area and set things up there, ready for folks to return from the observatory.

We will be there, or at least will plan on being ther, depending on whats going on with Shirley.

Covered area needs to be reserved soon and it was around $60 when I reserved it a couple of years ago, I think.

Yup. Got 'er nailed down from 9AM 'til dusk (unless we make special arrangements with the park ranger to stay later).

We have the covered picnic area with the big fireplace and such, so we should be good rain or shine.

Now that the park is nailed down, no changes.

Reservation number is 1347011501...

Sweet Tomas.

Sean, we stayed for quite a while last year. A bunch of people went in and watched the movie. If people wanna stay longer they can, some may want to head down and get the food started early, its up to the individual. The first year everyone wanted the pic a line of Scions going over the bridge so that was why we left early as a group.

If folks want to make a quick detour into the park on the way TO Johnston Ridge, they can drop off any foods or whatever they brought so whoever stays at the Seaquest base camp (me plus whoever decides to or comes down early) can set all that stuff out and have things more or less ready to go when folks get back...

(Since we have the main area, that means we have power, too, so if anyone wants to leave a Crockpot™ of stuff simmering, or whatever, that's OK, too.)

Should we start another thread so people can sign up for what they might be bringing?

AWESOME!! Is it going to a "Potluck kinda picnic"? Do we need to all pitch in for the spot as well?

The $70 for the spot is covered. Each year someone has stepped up and done that (well, except for last year), it's my turn this year.

The rest of it's up to the folks setting this up.

To give you an idea what they were like.

A big thank you to you Thomas for nailing the space down. As in the past 3 years it will again be a potluck kinda picnic. Thomas is paying for the spot but, it might be nice to help reimburse some of the cost to him. Would that be ok Thomas if people chipped in some money to you that day?
I think that might be a good idea Thomas to start another thread for sign-up and what they will be bringing.

If folks feel like they have to, they can, I guess, but it would actually be nicer to "Pay it Forward" - Next time you run into someone who needs a little something, help them out. When they offer to pay you back, have 'em pay it forward instead...
