The cop was a d!ck for doing his job? come on now

I know sometimes it feels cops are out to get certain people/cars, but even if they are, they are doing a job that needs to be done. If you speed, get caught, he did a good job. If you have no front plate, get a ticket, he did his job. If you have wrong % tint and get a ticket, he done his job.

ya think they have better things to do than to pull over a car with no front plate? or a car with too dark of a tint? i understand if he pulls u over for speeding and then he tacks on other things for it just cause he sees it, but pulling u over just for little things like that? really now? i mean i imagine cops as doing something more productive than to wait on the side of the freeway pulling people for not having front plates... i came to portland and when i got pulled over for "speeding" (long story but i didnt get a ticket cause when he pulled me over he accidently said "i had to go 45 to catch up to you" and he was trying to say i was going 45 too..) he asked if i had gotten a ticket before, and when i told him i got a no front plate ticket, he literally said " they actually ticket u for that???" but what do u expect from a college town? they're broke and they try to get as much money out of students as they can since thats pretty much the whole population..

but yeah the cops are doing their job, but they could be more productive with our tax dollars. we dont pay them to pull people over with just no front plates or too dark of a tint. how would u like to hear a cop go up to you and be like "ur paying my wages, and in return, i pulled a guy over for no front plate today and made this city safer".

Update.....wifey called the Clatsop County court & talked to a clerk. They didn't have the ticket on record yet but said the following: If you can't appear in court, send a letter prior to trial date.
Plead guilty to the speeding ticket. Given her perfect driving record, the fine will be reduced.
Plead guilty to the tinted window but provide proof that it has been removed or corrected within legal limits from the driver/front passenger doors. If this is completed, they will drop the window tint ticket too. They're "not concerned with anything behinde the driver".
Those were the clerks words. I promise.
Kind of a relief on the old wallet, but we'll see what happens.

Well if the cops are pulling over single people for a front plate, that is a waste of time and our $$$. However, if you look around and see how many people have no front plate, the cops/city/whereever could be a big amount of money.

There was an article in the paper not too long ago, where no front plates were costing the city money, because of the silly red light cameras only picturing the front of the car. Ended up the parking patrol people were walking around giving people tickets for no front plates.

I think the no front plate law is a very silly one, but if they are gonna stop you, they need to stop all the Porsche/Mercedes/BMWs/Audi etc etc drivers who dont have them either. I think if htey cracked down on it, they could get some quick $$$

well, tint meters usually have an error margin, so dont expect it to be right on. also, remember everyone, cops dont always stop you just to tell you to put a front plate on. those little things lead to bigger things, like DUI, drugs....... cops dont just magically know who has drugs or who is drunk. they stop cars and talk to people, and the drunk druggies just appear eventually.
