Our Hellgate Jet boat trip (6th anniversary present to to wifey)
So, I took my wife on a Hellgate Jet Boat Excursion trip for our 6th wedding anniversary, which isn't till September 23rd, but the boats don't run that late in the season so we did it early. this was her first time on the trip..
We got to ride on a HUGE sled boat that holds 40 people. it has 3 (yes 3) 454 Chevy engines.....

We left from Grants Pass, Oregon, and "flew" down river at over 40 miles an hour... got Wet... had the most awesome pork ribs and BBQ chicken dinner on an open air deck at Galice Resort, with ALL YOU CAN DRINK BEER!!!! then had another TRILL packed ride back up river.. 40 miles down, and 40 miles back up... here's what pictures I did take. I wanted to pick up a water proof camera, but forgot.
This is the Riverside Inn. the starting point of the trip.

This is a Osprey nest... BIG BEAUTIFUL bird, and protected too.
This picture is the exit of Hellgate canyon. I really wanted to take more pictures of it, but the Sun was in the wrong spot. you might have seen it though. this is where they filmed the movie "The River Wild" with Kevin Bacon. also a TON of other movies.. one with John Wayne.

This is Galice Resort.. tucked away in the woods on the banks of the Rogue River (the river we were on). they have 5 open air decks JUST for the jet boat trips...
here is the boat we rode in. the one on the Right. it's called the Chinook 2. it's #2 cause Bo sunk #1. true story....
my wife at the Resort on the deck where we ate.... mmmm good food...
And Finally.. here we are back at Riverside Inn.. it took me 5 tries to get a good shot..
ALL PICTURES WERE TAKEN WITH MY LG TRITON CELL PHONE.. good little phone. I just wish I had a water proof camera.. we did 360's full throttle stops, wave hopping. GOT SOAKED!!!!!! my Scion hat was drenched, I actually ringed water out of it.. my poor wife was sitting on the outside about mid boat.. poor girl she got the worse of it.... I hope you enjoyed the pictures...
