Hey guys where have the meets for the northend been? We need to start doing something up this way. Who's interested? We could do them at the Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood, or maybe even more north? I was thinking maybe every two weeks or so? And since the dealership is looking to get more involved with the community, I'm sure we'd be willing to get involved as well.

currently the farthest north meet regulary scheduled is the 4th fridays at northgate.... i'd be willing(pending start time/day) to drive up north to some events... just havent seen any1, lately, take the bull by the horns and set something up....
hard for a southender to set somthing up for that area since i dont know it very well.

heck.. maybe could have it at your dealership?? the kitsap meets at heartland dealership have been sucessfull...

Rodland isn't exactly parking lot friendly, haha. The biggest lot would be across the street at either the Walgreens or Albertsons, but I wouldn't suggest either >..>

Alderwood Mall has a bunch of parking garages that could be used, with open decks on top for those nice days and lower levels when it rains. It seemed to work pretty well there was more interest up north.

I'd be willing to drive up once a month for a M&G in the north end! I can't make it twice a month right now.

For those of us who do go to almost every m&g in the area...2 in the north end would be hard becuase we already have 4 a month in the Seattle area to attend.

Ya as long as there's some interest I'd really like to get the ball rolling around here. Rodland is an ok place for the shows and what not because we can clear out the garage, but I don't think it's very ideal during the normal workweek. The malls good because it has the indoor parking and food as well. I think I'm going to make some business cards for scionlife and maybe a local car club, just so we can get more people involved. I'll probably also mention it to people who purchase their cars here as well.

haha yes it is. So hopefully we can get things moving and I'm gonna try and get more people involved. To me it seems as though most other regions have a big community, but for some reason up here in Washington I don't get that vibe...anyone else feel that way?

We used to have them at Alderwood but they just kind of fell off. As long as they aren't on a Tuesday evening, I could probably attend.

My offer for a road trip to Concrete for pizza is still good!! :D

Which reminds me, someone's car club is having a rally up here on Saturday and it got me wondering if we ever do stuff like that? Might be kinda fun to do something where we have to follow directions and drive all around .... stopping to eat and yap now and then. Bring prizes to win??

Well, if we wanted to go north-north, I know their is a HUGE empty parking lot up next to my husband's Wendy's in Smokey Point. It used to be a grocery store but now it's nothing. Often a dealership with take it over and put their whole lot's worth of cars there. And if it's raining, we can park right up to the front of the store and hang out under the cover.

Or in Marysville, there's the huge parking lot at the Tulalip Casino we can meet in. I'll even go make sure it's okay for us to do this if there's interest. We can go hit the slots afterward.

Hehe...if I get next to the Tulalip I might end up gambling or shopping! If we do it in December the "Seattle Premium Outlets" are open 24/7...YEAH!!!!

24/7, really? That's nuts! That outlet mall is weird... but you can find some good deals.

I'm not hip on outlet malls at all (I live next to the SuperMall but never go because no real deals are to be had).

The only time I go are for 2 things:
1) Seattle Premium has a Restoration Hardware Outlet!!! I'm in heaven here!!!!! I have bought my living room table here since it was discontinued from the store and they have the paints at a great discount.
2) SuperMall has one day a year (Magical Night of Giving on Nov. 5th) where one pays $5 to charity to get in and everything in the mall is like 10-50% off. I get almost all my gifts at this time and am done with Xmas shopping early!

Back to thread...if its on a weekend I'm willing to go north-north but if its a weekday I can only make it up to Marysville in time.

Restoration Hardware Outlet? How do I miss this store? I would love this store too... odd? I'll have to read the outlet map and keep my eyes open better!

As for a date and time for a north meet... I'm open completely.

we have a decent sized community up here.... but most are 'fair weather fans'.... lol...

once the weather turns cold and wet... cars go into hiding...

come spring time things start picking up tho.... we've got a good south end thing goin.. just need more things north and i think things will pick up on their own...

weekends work best for me for things on the northend... or late on a weeknight (after 7/730pm)

When you're planning a location.. think about age limits! I'm not 21 and so I can't go to Tulalip, as much as I really really want to. (Unless somebody knows how to make fake ID's!! Hahaha.) Not to say it can't be held there.. just puts a limit on who can attend (even if the meet is outside, once people start getting cold or wanting to head inside, that leaves the others out hanging on a limb).

I think the best venue in the area would probably be the alderwood mall, we just gotta rally people!
