broken part
is it good when your making sure hoses are pluged in and you have a extra one (blue in this case) and your holding the free end sayin "where does this go?" then notice the piece it is supposed to connect too is stuck in the hose

with the exception of that hose being pluged in, got the throttle body on, intake back in, coolant filled up (tossed in a bottle of royal purple coolant additive). E-manage hooked up (tho still need to find a better place than on the floor)

started the car up... nothing blew up, nothing leaked, and best of all no red lights on e-manage and no check engine light.. had it running for about 15min. so hopefully all is good.

sooo... supposedly i can order a new one of those bypass valves (the broken thing) which is great!!... now if i can just get the broken one off... only 2 5mm allen head type screws holding it in... so far i have partially rounded off the top most head, plus rounded off my allen wrench...grrr....

even if i grind them off its ok i guess.. i can mount the replacement in a different angle, there's like 12 positions it can go in...

well...while waiting for the replacement part on the s/c.. figured i'd tackle the brakes... got the passenger side tire off, calliper off, and 75% of the brake line off... but its fighting me on the seperating the flexible rubber line from the hard line... gave up after dinner was ready, being hunched over for a few hrs sucks on the back.

lost some more skin and apparently will need mallet to encourage the rotor to come off... hopefully tonight will get at least the passenger side on, if not both.

Finally got around to attempting to install a set of Rotora big brakes i bought from a friend a year ago.... after finally getting the old brake line off, rotor and caliper.. i got the new rotor and caliper on and before i connected the brake line and did bled them.. figured i'd put my wheel back on to make sure it clears... FAILED

18x7.5" xxr 006's

with no spacers on very clearly hitting the caliper, put on 2 spacers that my father in law had in his shop, just over 3/8" combined.. and the wheels clear the caliper by about 1-2mm.. but they spin free... bad thing is.. i couldn't get a lug nut on. it tried to catch but just missed.. even if i did get it started i don't think they'd hold on enough.

so... thinking longer studs is one option to run with the spacers. is that safe and how easy to replace the studs? or am i crap out of luck?

with them spaced out on the 2 spacers it puts the wheel just about flush with the fender. which isn't a bad look, cept for i'm on air bags and when dropped, now the fender sits just above the rim.

to get around that issue it give me chance to install some cusco camber plates.. and if need be space my fender out with that DIY posted in here. and think that should clear the fender issue.

ok rambling now and wife wants me to watch tv w/her.. so i leave you with some pics.. and ask your thoughts opinions.. new rims are out of the budget so if i cant make the kit work.. i have a kit for sale

1st off clean up those calipers, get the rotors turned and at least scuff the pads to be safe. 2nd never EVER stack spacers. Do it right, get 1 bigger spacer and longer lugs.

Calipers look good behind there...definitely plenty of contrast.

Just keeping your safety in mind. Hate to see you get it all together be going somewhere and lose it.

woohooo... finally got the old bypass actuator off... new one on didnt get to start it up yet... but will do that tomorrow...
also spaced out my fenders 1/2" courtesy of Mr Bbzero 1/2" spacers he made that should help with the clearance issues once i get the 15mm wheel spacers to fit over the brakes. those should be in tuesday or wednesday (no 1 has them in stock locally go figure)

also tried to clean up some wiring stuff with some quick dis-connect plugs.. but think i'll have to re-do that once i get some more wire to use.

driver side spacer.. passenger looks just the same.. go figure

think i may have to get a elbow piece for that blue hose... the replacement part has the nipple going down towards the block... not much room there... will work for now.. but will look for an elbow
