the first post of your stuff i picked out the parts but i was tryin to figure out why you had 2 systems ...maybe making a super computer?? i see you edited to show desktop/laptop... makes more sense now

i dabble off and on in the pc stuff... was attracted by the namebrand/specs of alienware...im sure could find similar cheaper.. realized how long i havent paid attention to computer parts a month or 2 ago when i saw a compusa ad for a 'terebyte' hard drive for about 150 or less....

im scared to go back into it... now that i sorta have more $$ since house sold... i'd be screwed adding things to pc and or car

sorry about that

yeah, 4 gigs of ddr2 can be had for less than 40 bucks most places and terabyte drives run about 90 on newegg.com

it's ridiculous how cheap stuff is right now.

you gotta pay to play with the top end stuff though, but if you're into overclocking and some more heavy duty cooling solutions you can get around that though; say a Core i7 920 overclocked to 3.8 on nice air cooling for under 400 instead of that 1300$ Core i7 965...

Yeah the 7 series cards are harder to come by now, they renamed all the 8 series cards as 9-series too... really annoying that they did that...

you'd have to have the right motherboard/chipset to do it though, so unless you have an SLI capable nVidia chipset based mobo, you're out of luck, and the only real reason for it is bigger monitors or at least high res stuff.

yeah, the egg rocks.
the egg, mwave, and now ncix.us are amazing price competitors.

unfortunately ddr3 isn't so cheap... but plugging 12gigs of that in is going to be just epic...

well now is a good and cheap time to upgrade to a newer setup, but of course only if you need it, otherwise no reason.

i've been delving into VM's and doing a lot of compiling in multiple OS's and such so i'd love to get some more ram, but my 8800gt isn't quite holding up the way it used to in games, so i'm looking for an upgrade cause my monitor is 1920x1200; and well, if i do that, i might as well do the rest of it...

In regards to car stuff, even though computers can be super exciting. :-P

I am just finishing the floor for the tC with the sunken amp rack. Cant seen to be getting it level, but I am sure a good night sleep and some working tomorrow I can figure out something creative.

Ohh Brian,

One more question. I am going to get a 5th 5AD rim when I order them. Dont shoot me for this, but I am thinking about cutting the 5th one up like that forester that was up at the show. Where would I get the rubber to make the tire from, also how hard would it be to make that.

not sure wher to get the rubber but what I would do.....is cut the rim and tire to match and attach it to the rim via adhesive....then use concrete to fill the tire then paint the ends.I would like to know how they did it.........

Yeah me to I should have asked them. I saw them put it on and it didnt look super heavy. So I do know about the concrete. But, that would be an idea.
