Here's the Flickr Set of Most of the Resto.... some GREAT pics of flintstone holes in the floor and the condition of the car when I got it.

Gonna be a great vintage racer! Still wondering why you went w/ a SR though. If I remember correctly it will sit almost completely behind the shock towers, and is a pretty lightweight motor, thus encouraging lift under the front & putting a greater percentage of the car's weight dist. to the rear tires. I hear the RB25/ v8 is pretty popular and has possibly better results in weight distribution and performance... not knocking just wondering?

Centralized weight distribution is the holy grail of weight allocation, which is why race cars design typically puts the engine directly behind the driver rather than infront of them.
Take a pen and tape a washer to the cap and then spin it on the table. Now take that same pen and move the washer closer to the center of the pen and repeat the spin test. Observe the change in rotation and attitude of the pen when in motion.
I personally would rather the smaller lighter engine located closer to the center of the car than a bigger heavier motor (even with considerably more power) hanging forward over the front and muckin' with my handling.

similar to some old school drag cars, except the would just move the rear axle along the frame rail to suit weight distribution rather than move the engine.
suitable for a straight line car but i think that technique would destroy its drivability altogether.
unfortunately having owned a few z's without a lowered center of gravity and a lighter engine block you really feel the car pull hard while cornering even after suspension mods.
i bet that car feels great

Hopefully before Aiden gets his driver's license?
I'd aim for a realistic date of the summer of 2011 before it's all really powered up and running around.
I've got wiring to do now with a brand new EZ wiring harness to go in, with all the electrical system to get running and working, as well as basic reassembly... That's the next month or two.
Then it's getting the dash/gauges in and run, then it's seats/interior, by end of summer I want to be somewhat ready for the engine
Come winter, then it's engine build time, then engine install in spring, then wheels and exterior finishes (ZG fenders/FG Bumpers/Rear Spoiler).... It'll take a while.
