Weather. Weather. Weather.
I can't wait for the newest weather thread. I'm starting it a day early. Scott Sistek at http://www.komotv.com/weather just got back from vacation and wrote up a long report... go read it if you're not up to date. Possible 65mph winds (in my area) and then a good snow storm? Freezing temperatures?
Seriously though... can you remember a more eventful winter, ever? Tomas, you know everything... so what's the deal? End times?
Got my studded snow tires on. Gonna make the boys drag in the rest of our firewood. Got jugs of water if the power goes out again (I was out for like 2 days last time).

The only winters I recall that were somewhat 'special' were two 'blizzard' years. Winter of '68-69 saw I-5 closed around Roseburg, OR for several days, and the wife and I got stranded in Sutherlin, OR while we waited it out. The other was the Blizzard of '49 (winter of '49-50) when we got a couple feet in a few hours in Tacoma.
Other than that, the Columbus Day Storm in '62 was the only other really notable weather that sticks in my mind.
There have been little short nasties over the years, but few really sustained bouts of fascinating weather here in the Puget Sound area. We actually have some of the overall mildest weather on the planet. (Well, winter of '73-74 got it's licks in, too.)
Been some interesting earthquakes, though, especially in '64, and of course there are the volcanoes and the incessant rain we are famous for, but those are all just local color...
Winter's here aren't really all that bad, usually - just be patient and wait for summer when the rain is warmer. :D

mattross, I fixed up the link, real good. Thanks.
Tomas... so what you're saying is this winter hasn't been note worthy in your book? Floods, snow, windstorms... ack. It's fun but so seemingly out of the ordinary to me.

Naw, I forgot a LOT when I had my stroke in 2000. Had to relearn missing bits of English, most of my math and other languages went away, and there are HUGE holes in what I used to remember. (I was one of those horrible people with a near perfect memory, but these days it's just a shadow of what it was.)
BTW, don't ask ME what you did last week - I don't have any idea, either...

I don't think I'm supposed to remember last week anyway or something exciting would have happened. I need to read about having a stroke as you are the second person this week to mention it. He too had to learn how to speak again as well as write his name, which baffles me to some extent. I can't imagine how tough it would be to learn again.

We only lost power for about 20 seconds today during 60mph winds. Guess the umpteen previous storms took enough trees and limbs down so far that there was nothing left.
Now on to the snow! I hear Everett has snow right now.

I see that big green mass of moisture coming. It will be here any minute, lol.
Yep... that's me... very much me!
Anybody have snow already?

Updated Wednesday 1:00 p.m.
What's new and now: Heavy snow squall moving into area between Everett and Bellingham, including Whidbey and Camano Island. Snow will increase from the west, and can be as much as 2-5" in this squall. Should arrive between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

You're right... I am!
It's snowing sooo haaard right now. I just looked at the most updated radar thing and the bright red part is right above us. In the past hour, we've gotten (eyeballing the deck) about an inch and a half.
My husband is in Lynnwood for a meeting... I'm glad he took my xB with the studs. He's going to have one hell of a commute home.

Jenna...we had about 2 1/2 inches of snow this morning (I went to sleep at 3:30 am with nothing on the ground...at 6 am we had the snow).
It was wet snow and around noon it had finish turning into slush & melting on the roads. We don't have snow now but I know we'll have ice tomorrow!

I hope people leave work a bit early today. I doubt hte commute will be crazy like in November where it took people 7 hours to get home but it sounds like temps will be dropping and it will be getting icy. So i hope everyone stays safe

Just now started in Marysville? lol
My husband finally called.. he's on his way home. Hopefully he can get up to Marysville before it starts sticking on I-5. Once there, he *should* be home free.
