Used to work as an Oracle Database and Operations Anaylst.
Now...retired at home banging my head against a wall (see nwscionman's avatar for example) so trying to keep busy.
I returned back to school and will have my BS in CIS next spring (and yes...I'm in class now and posting on SL).

i am a Designer and Installer for a custom home electronics integration company. I recently moved from installation to design but I pretty much do everything. I program, install, design, build, test, service, etc... We do large scale audio/video distribution systems, custom home theater systems, surround sound living rooms, whole home integration and automation...its really fun stuff and i enjoy my job very much. I just got back from CEDIA last night. Its a huge trade expo that was held in Denver, CO this year. Kicked total A$$ although I'm tired as hell.

I am pretty much a "high school student" that lives off of the money that mommy and daddy gives. :D But to get more money,.. I've recently gotten a part-time job as a barista & cashier at Cafe B&L,.. caters to pretty much those who work in the business complexes; DHL, Transgroup,.. some others that I don't know. Yeah... And I'll be applying to Abercrombie Kids soon,.. as an Impact Team Member.

Jobs
again a pretty good variety of jobs. I know the over worked and underpaid feeling. try being in the field for 3 weeks without a shower and getting paid 1500 buck a month to do it!!! But I still love my job.. Are there any more military people on here with Scions? Maybe we can get a club started at lewis/McChord...

I work at Staples...it's the definition of overworked and underpaid. The cool part is I can source local work from it. I'll go install printers for whoever I might run across. I do upgrades, clean up pcs all on the side for usually 20-50 dollars an hour. Depends on what they offer first. I also had Hollywood Video part time but recently quit that.
Other than that I'm going to community college in hopes of a better job. Next year I want to attend Western University. The plan is to get into the EET Program (electronic engineering technology). We'll see what happens.

But once a person can get past the intro classes with an understanding of EET, the jobs out there are great!
Note: If you maintain a high GPA, get an internship with a company you want to work for while you're in school. This is the best way to get into the industry and get a higher paying position at the conclusion of your degree!
