If you are making it an official meet through the XXX root beer peeps you should look at the times that the shows are on the website most start in the am and go and go. Getting there in the afternoon/evening may find ourselves with no parking on a busy day.

The top of there website has an official calender of events and your right there is nothing going on as far as a car show but close by is gilman village, salmon hatchery, and 2 state parks if we end up with a large group going the summer crowd from the area could have there small lot easily full to overflowing. I have been to shows there in the am and had to park in the adjoining DR/clinic and seen them lined up the street by noon.

Wow, the loop.
I had completely forgotten the loop, of course, those days were a little smoky anyway
Someone should give Jose (the owner) a call if there is going to be a lot of people showing up, he's a good guy and does a lot for the local car community, and it might set him wrong if a ton of Scions show up unexpected.

The loop was just a gaggle of streets that wound through Renton that was an extremely popular cruising place. If I remember right it included Rainier and 3rd, I really don't recall the street names, but I'm sure I could drive it! Anyway, the local donut patrol decided they didn't like it any more and started citing any cars that were seen more than once an hour on the loop. It really was harmless fun, there were a few minor incidences, but nothing really bad ever happened, at least that I ever heard.

sounds good and i have been to a couple of classic shows there, i think there is one almost every friday through the summer, usually they do the show in the clinic's parking lot and leave the lot of the XXX open for "normal" patrons

Nah.. Every once in a while the "donut patrol" would make a bust, which constituted someone carrying a rack of beer in the back seat. Or if anyone had any "smoke" most likely they would just take it, and tell you to get the hell outta there. It got REAL big for a while, as American graffiti came out in the early 70's.

we'd cruised for a while, and then a bunch of us might head out the the old El Rauncho drive-in Movie theater, as it was like $3.50 per car load. we'd even stuff people in the trunk of my friends old 55 chev. LOL! GOD the ____ we did.

There actually was a no cruising law passed, my brother and I both were ticketed within a couple of days of each other. I think it was around $35.
