Anyone ever have Sirius Connect reciever problem?
The reason I'm asking this in this thread is because my sirius kit came installed from Longo (they included free sirius when I bought my car is 2005), so I'm wondering if anyone else who got the same deal (xa, xb, or tc) suffered a similar problem.
Anyone's Sirius connect reciever ever crap out on them? What were your symptoms? My OEM headunit recognizes the reciever is connected, but no channels come in (not even 184). If I unplug the attenna (or drive somewhere with poor reception), I dont get the "no signal" message. So I think the reciever is poop, but I want to make sure before I start buying thing I may not need. A replacement through the dealer is $200 (msrp) or $170 (msrp) if I buy the DEI/Directed components (TOYSC1 & SCC1). Thnx.
6/4/10 Update
Last week I bought a used replacement receiver on Ebay and installed it today. That fixed the problem. I knew it wasnt the antenna since I wouldnt get the "no signal" message that I read about when the antennas go bad (apparently the small "micro dot" sirius antennas fail alot). After reading the posts on this thread about antennas I ordered one from Amazon, but I guess I wont need it. Sirius charged me $15 to change my Sirius ID, which is unique to the receiver (not the head unit).

Mines did. I had the old setup. It was good for a while but just crapped out on me. I would just upgrade. I forgot what site I bought it off of but it was a good deal. Installation is mad easy.
I would never by anything like that through the dealership BTW.
