So, i filled up with some $4.03 87 octane on thursday yum. The weird thing was another local gas station(Thrifty Gas aka junk) was charging 4.23 for regular the next day but everywhere else was still 4.03-4.09.

I don't even notice the price at the pump yet-- it's bad, bu it could be so much worse. I notice that the combination of ridiculous fuel/oil prices and an $8.00 minimum wage make everything cost more. Two combos and two kid's meals in the drive thru cost me like $23. Two gallons of milk is close to $6. UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping all cost at least 20% more than this time last year.

The price at the pump is just the insult-- the fact that everything else costs considerably more than the same time last year is the real injury.

I say be happy you guys have the 1.5ltr engine and a light car. we get some of the best MPG around. Well the xA had the best non-hybrid mpg on the market. 41hwy 37city?

We have it easy if we take it easy when we drive. Yeah the gas prices SUCK!!!! But the value of our cars go UP as demand for MPG friendly cars keep going up. I am trying to stay optimistic.

Heh, well I was on reserve when I got to the Scion United hill from a full tank We cruised the whole way. I still had about what 4 gallons left when I got home from Scion United from a full tank and I was going about 80mph the whole way. HUGE diff. I say. I am on 18's as well.

I drive my xB way too hard in the city I hate going into 'grandma' mode.

Is it possible to get crap mileage on a Prius? Cause that's probably what would happen to me.

You do know that gas stations rose the price mainly because it was Memorial Day weekend right? They always do that, but I highly doubt it will go back down to under $4.10 this week, if ever =\ Gas is the #1 reason why I rarely show up at any events or gatherings lately. I have a crapload of bills to pay off, working almost full time, full time student (paying myself) so.. events/shows/gathering are now on the back burner. Seriously this sucks. If only the wages would go up to offset these ridiculous prices we'd be ok =\

Oh, and the US produces enough oil to where we can rely on ourselves and not depend on outside sources of oil. We just choose to export for the monies.

i remember when gas (87oct) was $0.85/gal. Im now seriously considering on buying a sportbike due to gas prices, commute, and cuz the permit is cheaping at school for a bike.

I checked my receipt from January 2nd. Gas was $3 something. Im thinking gas will reach 5-6 by Jan of 09. My prediction

Gas was at $4.15 regular this morning for the shop car. But dam it if I didn't just spend $4.11 a gallon on my little box a day ago. So why I haven't I heard of any gas companies having money problems or stock going down. I think I know why. They have control of the market and want to ____ off everyone. They know they can get away with it and not have to worry about anyone doing anything about it. They have control of the gas so we are stuck.

There was one president who actually took all the oil company owners, sat them down in a room and yelled at all of them for the high prices. That was Teddy Roosevelt, he actually got in the face of the owner of Standard Oil (Chevron) and told him to knock off the price gouging! Sure enough the prices stayed the same for a bit. Of course the president we have now wouldn't want to ____ off his biggest supporters. Big Oil. Whatever.
