Actually the profit margins of gas companies are 7% which is not high by any means. You just hear the high profits because it is one of the few things that people have to buy to live (work, school, food, etc.). Think about it, there are some software companies with huge profit margins but no one complains about the money they make from people buying (no pirating!) their software. If anything, its the individual gas station owners helping the oil companies gouge us.

Pushing past 4 dollars a gallon. How high must it go before no more traffic jams or rush hour. Imagain it, only those intelligent enough to find a job long enough to collect unemployment will be able to aford gas. NO longer will we be cursed by brain dead morons slowing down where they should be hamer down. I long for the day when I can drive the costal highway alone and unhindered.
In the near future we will save up for cruises instead of performance. But those will be some sweet cruises with no one on the road but a couple houndred scions, like something out of a movie or a comercial?
Ya F all that I just want to drive.

The Good News:
I remember when gas was .28 a gal for Regular.
The Bad News:
The Mininum Wage was $1.65 an hour.
Everything is Relative.

No, it used to be relative. Then, an hour's labour would buy you about 5.5 gallons of gas-- you could fill a tank by working 2 hours. Now, an hour gets you two gallons. When you get to your soul-sucking minimum wage job on Monday morning, the first 6 hours are just to pay for the week's gasoline.
That's messed up.
That's messed up.
