Your thread title says "Got Another Exhaust TIcket". So is this the second ticket you have received for it? If so, then maybe that is the price for a second offense? I don't really know, I still run stock, lol.
But yeah, I agree with everyone else, go back to stock, get the ticket signed off, then go from there.

It's only illegal to get an exaust to purposefully increase the noise level. In Cali, if it's under 95db it's legal as long as you can pass smog. The only new law that really affects you is the one for the catylitic converter. You must have an approved converter with the manufacturere's number stamped on the cat.

dude you gotta get rid of the headers all the way back and get your problem fixed and leave it that way even though you like going alot to irwindale to race, it's still not worth it to be paying alot for tickets that you can easily evade. other than that is the ticket correctable or non-correctable, if correctable then go to the courthouse and ask the clerk for a court date to talk to the judge and during that time you have to wait go to the state ref and get your car checked out and the day you go to see the judge have the sheriff at the front desk to go outside and check out the exhaust for you as well. when you see the judge tell him that your guilty and that you got it fixed by the state ref and signed off by the sheriff at the front desk and show them proof of both. if your lucky then you won't have to pay unless the judge tells you pay the regular $25 for the fix-it ticket or pay like half of what it you have to pay now, now if it's non-correctable then there is a good chance it could work which it did for but then again it doesn't mean that it always works. i had gotten one last year and that is what i did and it worked out fine for me because my ticket was non-correctable and i walked into court and the clerk was nice to just tell me that i could fix it if i went to the state ref to get it fixed and wait a couple of monts and then see the judge about it, so i went ahead and got my exhaust checked by the state ref and it passed CA's db level with just the catback part so if i would get pulled over again the cops wouldn't be able to ticket me for that muffler. i waited a few monts and when i had to see the judge i said guilty, he asked me if i got it fixed and i said yes and i showed him proof of the paper that i got from the state ref and he said ok all charges are dropped and i was free to go which was better than a $200+ ticket that i would of had to pay if i didn't wait to see the judge.
