so i got pulled over for my exhaust a few months ago and today i had to go to court for it,
judge said if i fixed it
i said yes and i have the state ref sticker saying that i passed
gave it to him and he said ok your free to go and all charges are dropped
it actually went better than what i had expected and i didn't have to pay anything which was good.

they can still give you a ticket because you are in CA laws but are you also going to register the car to CA plates?

On my old car I got 2 exhaust tickets in like a week.. I had way to much stuff to even care about bringing it near a court. I did not pay about a month later i got a bill for 128$..

Beast the cost it would of been! Just a fix-it ticket nothing bad on my record :-)

the injen exhaust should be ok...it doesnt mean cops wont hassle you for it. once installed, go to your local referee and have them test it so when a cop pulls u over for it, you can show him the certification and maybe he wont ticket you.

I hope this might help some of you folks out there.I was looking at diffent mufflers system when i came across this site by mistake. This may solve all your loud exhaust noise if you think you might have been heard by the cop's just tell them i have no idea what your talking about. take a look at this site and let me know what you think ..

^^if you have the silencer...you don't need to worry if you have it in, and i believe that exhaust is well below 95 dcb

So...
i got pulled over on friday night about 5 blocks from my house and guess what for? Exhaust. So i pulled out my info from the referee and the cop said he had never seen anything like that. He was cool since i was being nice too, and he let me go but told me to go to the DMV and get a letter of approval from them. So i went to the DMV and they had NO CLUE as to what the hell he was talking about. So hopefully he doesn't pull me over again. It sucks when an officer pulls you over for modifications, and doesn't even know the laws himself...he also said my car was dangerously close to being "too low" (h-techs)...i don't think so occifer

i've heard/read couple situations where ppl got ticketed for TRD exhaust, but you can email TRD and ask them for paperwork you can keep in your glove box stating it complies with emissions law and noise. so far i haven't been pulled over for my TRD yet, but TRD axle back was what i got after i got pulled over for a custom exhaust. but then the cop can ticket you anyways. trd exhaust does get pretty deep when it gets warmed

I'm just wondering, are the referee stations open now? when i got my correctible ticket few months ago, all CA ref stations were closed due to budget cut. i didn't know how to get my ticket signed, but i went to my local police department and they just looked at the tip of my stock exhaust on the car and signed it off, took that to the court and i just paid my $10 fee...

honestly, all catbacks and axlebacks meet the requirements to be CARB legal...it's when you delete a cat or both cats and/or add a header that makes it louder and illegal
