I am completely stupid about headers...
Getting different headers voids our warranties in cali right?
Does the headers deal with catalytic converters?
It just means Id have to replace it with the old ones everytime I got smogged right?

Any aftermarket header for the tC removes primary catalytic converter at and you will not smog or pass visual inspection here in CA. As for warranties, it will only be voided if the dealership can prove that the header caused something to malfunction in your car.

First a foremost - its a HEADER. Not HEADERS [plural]

DC Sport Header should be legal & it only has to deal with the cat if the cat is part of the header for example a WRX has that. The only way you wont pass a visual inspection with headers is 1) a cop pulls you over & hassles you about it & 2)you get a ref ticket & they advise you to swap it out. Other than that you shouldnt get sweated on a visual inspection for smog. Plus Remember this if your car is brand new you wont have to smog your car for the first 5 years.

 

No header is legal for the tC in California... period.

That being said, if you don't add a fart can and drive like an idiot, you won't get hassled. However, you will have to remove it before getting smogged in a few years unless you go to the "right" smog stations.
