legal battles have happend where someone can have a carb legal item, but a twist in the "rule book" saying "any alternations other than "stock", is still illegal." booooooo! Just like being too low. the alternate cite is headlights being too low. OR modified exhaust is noise pollution.

What about Harley exhaust ? that's not noise pollution ? hey i like bikes, but dam some of them can wake up a whole neighborhood especially weekend riders coming down a huill in packs of 15 or more.
and the low lights ? half of South Orange County, Hollywood Hills and other locations would've had all their exotics whitten up if that was the case...it's all about robbing the poor and keeping it all for a broke a$$ state ! politics man. JMO but hey still would'nt ever wanna move out of SoCal.

This comes from Cali State Vehicle Code. Research, FTW:
27202. For the purposes of Section 27200, the following noise
limits shall apply to any motorcycle, other than a motor-driven
cycle, manufactured:
(1) After 1969, and before 1973 ...... 88 dbA
(2) After 1972, and before 1975 ...... 86 dbA
(3) After 1974, and before 1986 ...... 83 dbA
(4) After 1985 ....................... 80 dbA
That tells ya how loud that Harley should be.
I could not find specific levels acceptable for vehicles 6000lbs manufactured after 1976, however.
