At the cattle prodding of the wheel dude of Scion Evolution, Nilo JC Miranda, I have disregarded my own personal work and have now processed some shots that are ready to post from HIN-LA 07. There was a lot to cover and my second shooter could not make it at the last minute so I was stuck trying to cover the whole show by myself. Needless to say I missed a lot. Unlike last years 1,400-1,500 “shoot and ask questions later” HIN fiasco, I proudly managed to set off my shutter only 854 times. *whew* It just means less post-processing work for me! Consider this thread Part 1 coverage of HIN-LA 07 from SE So Cal’s perspective.

Before arriving at the convention center, SE met up at Island Motorsports in Fullerton. From there it was to a warehouse to pick up props for the booth.

Here’s IMS’s Reggie not doing anything to bring to an end the stereo-type of Asian drivers:

While waiting, the wheel dude was bragging about scoring with a Hawaiian model that was inside. That’s Ross’s friend Marlon saying “No F!@$?*@#$# way can you score on her and get her number.

AND she was so impressed by his school boy charm and kitten like playfulness she accepted his personalized bumper sticker and she wore it!!!!! Needless to say...he got some that night. (Writers note to readers: N.I.S.H. isn't for Nish Design's own Gary Nishimura, it's the acronym for Nilo Is So Hot. And he does promote himself well!)

Now that’s a man’s man.

At the convention center, SE rolled straight pass the regular staging area and was able to stage up at the docks.



After a few minutes they got the green light to roll-in with IMS.

There were more SE cars but I got distracted when some of SE’s MOB’s showed up to help set up the booth. Well, they really took me downstairs to see the rest of the Scion community that weren’t fortunate enough to get a pass straight inside. Here’s who I ran into:

Anyways, after about 8 cigarettes (no I’m not addicted either) and no water, it was time to go back up stairs where they turned on the A/C inside the convention center.
