Here's how it's done: Scion's Pure Price purchase experience means no haggle, no hassle. The price you pay for all products and services offered equals the dealership's posted and advertised price. Price menus are clearly posted in the dealership showroom for all products and services. Dealers are free to set their own prices.

basically it is a way for them to set a price that is higher than the product is worth and then tell you in a "cool" way that you cannot barter a better deal! I think is a crappy thing personaly, cause the way they say it "pure pricing...no haggle, no hassle" makes it seem like you are getting the better end of the deal, when actually you are not!

Because "pure pricing" does not apply to used vehicles! Nothing other than the warrenty follows a car from a dealership once it is purchased! If you really sold cars you might know that! A used dealer can sell a vehicle for whatever they want! There is nothing in pure pricing that has to do with a used vehicle since there are many other variables that affect the cost of a used vehicle!

OK, this one is over.

The Scion line doesn't have the thousands of dollars of built-in price padding to 'come down' from. The average dealer makes about $630 on a box.

There isn't any 'holdback' or 'flooring' the dealer gets back, like they do in most other makes, either.

There isn't a whole lot of slack for a dealer to play with, even if they were allowed to.

With "pure price" the advertised price at each dealer is the price that any and all customers should pay for that new Scion product at that dealership. No different than buying a quart of milk at the grocery.

The reason for the resale being higher than new cost, is the resale prices are 'floating' on the market, and people are willing to pay more than the fixed prices dealers charge for "new." Odd, but true.

Now I get to lock this topic, because there are already dozens about the very same topic. Use the search function, OK?
