Scion d-VIP @ Formula D pics by JDM! 4-11-09 (250+ pics!)
thanks to Scion VIP for putting up this awesome event for us. we enjoyed the Round 1 of the 2009 Formula D series. here are the pics!!! again, i was using my brother's Nikon D200 DSLR, so bare with me with the pics. haha!
got to the parking structure at around 8:50am. yeah, we were early. LOL!
saw this tC at the same parking structure.
outside, we saw many drivers practicing.
burning out...

Long Beach Aquarium.
got our VIP pass at around 9:30am. yep, we didnt have to wait in line to get in.
got into the vendor/pit area...

got great view of the event. they are still practicing.
then practice is over. driver's signing area.

the owner was cool enough to asked me if i wanted to see the inside on the car.
yep, its for sale.

the top 32 has started. the crowds were cheering.

nice TV, but the reception sucks.

back to the drifting pics. it was kinda hard to take pictures of it.
the 240 hit the wall, rear bumper falling off...

my favorite moment of the race. Tanner Foust almost clipped the Silvia S15 in front of us!!!
Tevin couldnt believe it. LOL!
Taka ate the wall. driver's sideskirts and rear bumper fell off.
final 4 time.
Samuel Hubinette defeated Robbie Nishida.
Tanner Foust vs. Ryan Tuerck. winner gets to go against Samuel for the championship.
after many OMT (one more time) runs. stupid judges finally picked Ryan Tuerck to win. whatever!
battle for 3rd place. Tanner Foust vs. Robbie Nishida.
again, stupid judges called for a couple more of the OMT runs. but at least Tanner Foust won 3rd place!!!
the finals.
Ryan Tuerck vs. Samuel Hubinette.
Congrats to Ryan Tuerck for winning the Round 1 of the Formula D, even though you beat Tanner Foust.

that guy with the skyline you mentioned, great guy. hes also a friend of mine, took me for a ride last time at the autobach meet...what can i say, its a skyline ^^
