I don't think the mods will take kindly to a new thread about this. :\ What are our options anyway? I only see Long Beach and Burbank.

Personally, I really like that Burbank idea and most people already agreed on it since that was the original plan.

Yeah, if its in Burbank, thats cool.

Personally, I think a structured shot would be beter than a flat area shot such as a parkinglot. IMHO.

another great location is here...

The Castaway
1250 Harvard Rd.
Burbank, CA 91501-1096

there is a wide parking lot just before you go up to the restaurant itself... on a Saturday AM or afternoon, it doesnt get filled up until a little bit after 5pm since this is their dinner time starts... it can easily handle more than 30 cars on the lot and there are no poles for anyone to hit or obscure the pictures, and theres a nice scenery on the golf course. so now you guys have 2 choices for Burbank, either here (castaway restaurant) or over at Bob's Big Boy.

reminder to OP: if Bob's is the place, give the manager a call and give them a heads up... they might have some kind of car show going on their lot too... its better to be prepared than sorry.

Yeah, I've made notes to call ahead no matter where we go to avoid any problems.

It’d be cool to have a spot like these two:

Also, just a quick thought, do you know what would be awesome?!, having a shot at the tip of a structure something like the finish like shot you saw in Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift…all the cars w/ the city in the background….decent!

Found this today and thought it would be awesome if someone who had a video camera would do something similar: http://vimeo.com/3143797

I'm all over it Ro_Ja. I have a video camera that I can bring...I'll need a tripod or something that I can mount it with. Does anyone have one? Also, does anyone have that camera mount that goes on the outside of your car? But yeah, I'll post up later tonight a like to the 5 Axis video I did way back. I got a BA in this stuff, so I all hands on deck for it.

Burbank sounds good then if that's what the peeps want. Any idea yet on location though?

^ Awesome!!

I was thinking of having the meet at a parking garage in Burbank in the morning, doing the shoot, then caravan over to Bob's Big Boy for lunch.

i can do that as well... i have been doing video programming for 5 years and i only use premiere pro.

the only downside i see is that people have to bring vid cam and they have to send the file to the person whoever will do the video editing. please no p&s video cuz the quality sux. a hard drive vid cam is a must. or an HD cam would even be better. but if people are willing to bring vid cams, the better. i know i will bring both dslr and my vid cam.

which parking lot were you thinking about, Roja?

Well, I've never been to Burbank ever and it's a pretty decently drive for me, so I was hoping to have some ideas & pics of places from people over in that area. Like I've been saying from the start, I need your guy's help!

You and I need to team up on this then. Looks like we've been playing around with video editing for a while now then. Just remind me to post up my video to show you guys what I did a while back. Perhaps you can do the video editing and then send it to me for sound editing...I have sooo many trax I'm dying to mix up on throw to video.

I'll have to check what camera I have, but I don't have HD or a hard drive one...it predates those by about one year I think.

Anyone got mounts or tripods?
