Street Racing Ends With Car Crash In Mission Valley
Mission Valley -- A dramatic crash in Mission Valley leaves a car looking like a mangled mess, and police are blaming it on illegal street racing.
The crash happened Tuesday night along Friars Road, west of Fashion Valley.
One driver was sent to the hospital with minor injuries, after his car slammed into a tree. A second driver was not hurt. He made the initial call to 911.
Several witnesses tell police the cars were going between 80 and 100 miles per hour, which is double the speed limit.
"It's pretty selfish to come out here driving at those speeds when you got families out here, and people like, just good citizens using this roadway for the right purpose, and San Diego PD is not going to tolerate this type of driving," San Diego Police Sergeant Art Doherty.
Police say the driver of the wrecked car is suspected of driving drunk. The unharmed driver was questioned and released, but his car was towed away.
Both are facing charges for drag racing.

I know whomever this is most likely won't fess up, but I'd just like to say thanks for making us look bad.
You're lucky you only got minor injuries...And didn't injure anyone else due to your bad judgement.
And that was my friend that cut you out from the car with the jaws of life. He wanted to thank you for that new experience as well, since he 's a new member of the SDFD.

driving fast to get where you need to be quicker with someone trying to get to that same destination at around the same speed FTW!!!!
j/k. street racing sucks. what do you get out of it. nothing. you spend $2000 putting in that H22A engine into your 1991 "Honda" Integra that only Kelly Blue Book's for $2000. and what do you get? nothing. wet panties.

it's already turning that way. remember the one that crashed on the 118freeway and it burned down, one that drove into some other dude at a party because of a recent fight, also that one foo who drove into a house because he guy was high.
