Here are some tips. Some stuff I thought would help this time around that I've learned from the '06 cruise.

Have different stop points (but not too much) Cruise to each stop, pick up more people, then continue. Each "region" could have one or two 'leaders', or organizers to make sure things are going smoothly and everyone is ready before the cruise gets to them. Then choose a final destination that is quite a ways from the last stop point so the last group may enjoy the cruise some.

Talk to the organizer of this photoshoot. Maybe you guys can work something out and put the two ideas together. The only thing about having a cruise and photoshoot in one day is that it's going to take all day. Photoshoots take a lot of time, and a cruise will as well. Make sure that when plans are set, they stay set on the day of the event, especially routes. Ive seen people go two different ways on the freeway! And that caused us to lose HALF of the initial group because someone decided they wanted to take a different route and some didn't know who to follow.

Walkie talkies work well, but not REAL well if you have a long line of cars. They break up between the first car and the last car, causing confusion. The best thing to do is to print out maps/routes and distribute them to EVERY car. If someone gets left behind the whole group won't have to wait and they'll still (hopefully) get to the next destination.

 

SK Organizers i went to the xb cruise was the only tc that parked there so i can catch a ride with my friend and let me tell you that the driving thru the city is not funny and it's a waste of time....

it took us about 1 1/2 or 2 to get from hollywood to santa monica... not fun at all so this is my opinion for tC cruise...

head north 101 to oxnard mid point we can talk to scion of oxnard then cross over to pch thru the cayon and take pch south to the 10 fwy to pacific palisades park as final destination....

I hear ya, I was one of the last 10 cars to leave the lot and didn't see much action on the street except for all the traffic that was left in the wake. It was alot of fun though seeing everyones reactions on the street. That is something you don't get too much of on a Freeway.

But that actually sounds like a nice cruise, 101 to Oxnard and back down PCH. Maybe I'll park my XB at Scion of Hollywood and Hitch a ride with a TC!

I agree. I think we should head north on the 101 and swing back down pch...who knows, maybe stop at neptunes for lunch ...either way, I'm setting up the meet spoit in the valley and I can be one of the road captains/leaders from this meet spot. I'll spread the word.

 

yea, going through the city was not fun. super slow. tons of streetlights. people cutting you off. and lots of cars.

take a look at my vid i posted of the timelapse of the cruise. the first few minutes are going through santa monica.

 

Definitely stick to the highway and try to stay off surface streets as much as possible. It sucks having to figure out if everyone got through the inersection.

 

i think the cruise and photoshoot from the other thread should be different!

This sounds like fun, count me in, my suggestion is once the route is figured out, someone should post it so that peole can map quest it, that way if some one is left behind they know where they are going next, you nshould also chill at every spot for a few minutes to give people a chance to get there/catch up, that's my .02 cets.

So, I've heard that people want to combine my photoshoot meet idea with your idea of a cruise. I'm aiming for April, but if you want to have your cruise earlier, go ahead and do it. I can direct the people in my thread that want a cruise, to this one.
