I am not sure how many of you follow current events outside the U.S., but this last week I have been nonstop. Last Saturday a huge typhoon came really close to destroying the Philippine Islands and now there is a second "super typhoon" getting ready or about to hit land. Super Typhoons are no joke. I have experienced a few of those growing up in the Philippines. They are and can be stronger than a category 4 hurricane. The people in the Philippines are crippled as it is right now and getting set for round 2. Which more people can lose their lives. Tonight "Blacksand16" advised of a get together tonight in West Covina to raise money for the people of the Philippines affected by these deadly Typhoons. The reason why I am posting is because these are my people, I was born and raised there, some of my immediate family are homeless right now and are depending on my mom and dad's help. A lot of the people devestated by this typhoon are poor and cannot afford much and is reaching out. I'm already trying to do my part in helping the people "back home". My cousins have asked for clothes, shoes, etc since they lost everything as well as money to try and rebuild what they have lost. Kev, it starts at 7pm. I just updated the info. This isnt my event, but it's one of many happening now and in the future. I actually wont be there because I'm helping my mom pack up some stuff she is sending right away.
