i think youve got it misunderstood. the centers of the wheel are welded into a wider barrel, essentially creating a new wheel from other parts from other wheels. there is no "stretching" or actual "widening" going on, it's offset and width adjustment through swapping the actual rim and face. check these guys out:
apparently this is also very popular with old school european cars.

there's a shop out in monclair called D&B Wheels they might be able to help you out, I know they do alot of repairs with welding, it wouldn't hurt to try.. (at least its more info that you gotten so far..)

none yet, but it looks like pico wheel might be able to do it:
www.picowheel.com
theyve got "wheel widening" in their list of services, and i think podracer actually talked to someone there.
i havent gotten a chance to give them a shot, and i probably wont until maybe next month when im in a better spot to spend some money. but they sound promising

Hi Guys,
Sorry it's taking long for me to get the wheels widened. Just busy with work and am debating between the shop in LA and just ordering a set from diamond racing
http://www.diamondracingwheels.com/ministock.html
Diamond racing only charges 60 something bucks for 15x8 but they charge 20 bucks shipping, making it the same price as having my wheels widened by the shop here in LA.
Diamond racing has different options too. They carry 4x100. and their rims are nice.... Check the link out

hmm... looks like a good source. personally id rather have a local shop do it, because i like the pattern on our stock steelies. not that theirs are bad or anything.
dammit now i cant make up my mind.
