Hey Guys,

I'm thinking about my calipers painted, anyone have their done on their cars? Any recommendation of a shop that may do it for a reasonable price? Thanks!

dude.....this is the easiest and a very cheap mod by far 2 do.....

..........get ur paint for the auto parts store or buy the G2 kit off ebay....

all you need is the paint kit itself.....pick up some tape and a newspaper

1. take off wheel
2. cover ur brake drum and everything else you dont want to get paint on with newspapter and tape it up
3. the G2 kit comes with a hardner, if you buy that one mix that in with the paint, wait bout 3mins....if you buy the one from the auto store no hardner.
4. use the brake dust cleaner spray that comes in the kit and clean off the calipers
5. take the brush that comes in the kit, and start painting the caliper...
6. let the caliper dry and apply a 2nd and maybe a 3rd coat....
7. let it dry over night.....

if you dont think you can do it by urself....i can always help you if you would like.....jus let me know

oh...and if you do it just like that....and wait for it to cure properly too.... it lasts for a long time. I had it on my 06 for close to 50K miles and not a single chip in the paint on any of the calipers.

Its very easy to do.... it cost me 13 bucks for each of my tC's to do...and have had great results....and the durability is great.

How about during a car wash? Doesn't affect the paint job at all?

well I've ALWAYS done the self serve type... NEVER an automated wash....that's just scary to me. Enamel paint on the calipers will def. stand up. I have now over 60K on my 06 tC with painted calipers...and 4K on my new 08 tC.... it holds up extremely well. IMO....

if you want I'll pm you the actual brand of high heat enamel caliper paint I used tomorrow.... I've got my garage all locked down...and its late... lol
but the one I used wont put you in the poor-house by any means...just takes a few hours to apply...and you will have great looking calipers for years to come.
