Default Scion Champs Chicago Trip

What time is everyone getting into Chicago?

I get there at 11:37 and I figure it will take about an hour to get to the hotel after I land. Is anyone else getting there early? If so, let's plan something to do.

I think they figured us to all get to the hotel before 1 or 2.

I am supposed to land at 11:24am. Looks like I'll probably make the Mariott just in time to check in and hit the roundtable at 2:00.

In any case, we'll have plenty of time for fun on Wednesday night. HAPPY VALENTINE'S!

I arrive in Chicago at 9:40 am and leave at 11:35 am.

Here is the website for Gibson's Steakhouse.

Website for Giordino's I talked to a fwe guys from Chicago and they say we're pretty lucky to eat here.

Marriott Downtown website

Info on Ventoso at the hotel

Ventoso

* 1-312-836-6334
* Italian
* Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner
* Fresh and creatively prepared foods with an Italian twist in a casual setting.

Chicago Auto Show website

Weather for Chicago

The hotel will charge your card with $40 for each day you are staying for incidentals. Total of $80. You can pay that in cash and have it refunded to you immediately in cash upon your check out.

Chicago Auto Show FAQ's
Can I take pictures of the displays? Are cameras allowed?
Cameras are permitted, welcomed, encouraged. Enjoy the show!

Coolers on wheels are not permitted in the show, and all bags are subject to search at the entrances. Don't plan to bring a whole pizza through the doors, but a sandwich or two is probably OK.

Food and beverage vendors on the show floor accept cash but are unlikely to accept credit cards for payment. Restaurants in McCormick Place near the show floor will take plastic.

2007 SHOW SCHEDULE

* Feb. 9-18: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
* except Feb. 18: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m

That's all I got for now! Any other info add here and let's keep everyone posted!

OK then, ummm.... That whole thing about me having the after party was all a ploy so that I wouldn't feel guilty about partying in your room without offering to use mine. I will still bring the ice... All the info is there about the restaurants, but where is the liquor store on Michigan Ave?

Yeah, I think I've heard of Giordano's before. Lots of Food Network, you know?

One of these days we'll have to swing a Scion trip to Philly for some reason so we can eat at MORIMOTO'S!! Iron Chef, hells yes.

In any case, I'll all up for ClubWhatEverTheHellScott'sRoomNumberIs!

As is tradition, I'll send out Scott's wakeup call in the am.

Maybe the hotel restaurant will have some fresh mint. If all else fails, I am sure they will have some Wrigley's Spearmint gum in the gift shop. Just chew it while you drink. It will be a virtual Mojito.

I bet we'll meet at the airport. They'll know who's flights get in together and we'll probably ride to the marriott together.

I think that is right, I got an e-mail about going to some certain door on the lower level of baggage claim and they would have someone waiting for us. Anybody else get that e-mail???
