Colorado 07-08 Road Trip IDEAS!!! = )
The Mt.Evans Road trip was a real blast. It was really great to meet everyone. So i've been thinking of other road trips we could do and heres some of my ideas.
Road Trip 1- Fall Trip To Woodland Park
-I figured this be a total round trip of about 7 hours including eating and stopping. It start at the Bandimere Gas Station, go up 285 then into some back country Mtn roads to woodland park. Very scenic and be alot of fun. We would eat in Woodland Park i suppose.
Road Trip 2- Winter Ski Trip
-This trip i place maybe in Late December or January and plan a trip to a ski resort we could all vote for. For example Breckenridge. Meet at the Gas Station in the early early A.M. With Ski's or snowboards in hand. Travel to Breck and do our thing of skiing. maybe ski as a group or go on our own. Then all meet up at a certain time on one of the mountain restaurants for lunch. Then finish the day off and maybe meet for dinner or just go home.
Road Trip 3-Mid-Winter City Dinner Trip
Well, it be cool to explore Denver the Scion Way. Bascially, meet for a good 'ol dinner in the Heart of Denver and Eat somewhere along the 16th Street mall. Then take a night drive to Lookout Mtn.
Road Trip 4-Rocky Mtn Spring Scenic Trip
I'll find the roads later, but take a scenic road into Rocky Mtn National Park and explore the beautiful Mountains in the bloom of spring on some two lane back country road. Then eat dinner somewhere in some town along the way.
Road Trip 5- 3 Day Weekend Adventure To Durango In Late Spring/Early Summer
To get the best of Colorado, and it's beauty, is to take a back country road to Durango. Durango during Spring and Summer is nationally know for the beauty and history of the town. It has a two original Narrow Gauge trains still in service taking you down the historic railroad to Silverthorne. I've been down this train when i was about 6 and looking at the video and memories of it, it WAS ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR. I'll post some pics later.
The basic of this trip. Meet at the Gas Station around 8 or 9AM take 285 down to some other highway which winds through the colorado mtns to Durango stopping along the way for food, gas, photo op's etc. Will roll into Durango around 3 or 4. Check in to a average rate hotel. Give a hour or two to settle down and then eat. Next Day, Day 2. Eat breakfast, then take the morning train to Silverthorne. I"M TELLING YOU this TRAIN ride is something SO SPECTACULAR, you really won't want to miss it. Eat Lunch in Silvethorne then explore around and such. Take the train back to Durango. Eat dinner somewhere at a local hot spot. Then on Day 3 head home.
The Durango trip is the Big one of all the road trips. I think it be so very fun and amazing to do.
Durango Pic's
So far thats the ideas i'm up to.
So what do you guys think?
This is all base plans so when the trips/or if the trips are planned, will get more into the details etc.
Cheers,
Ryan

Hey Ry! It was really great to meet you too! Glad you had fun! It was a beautiful weekend for a drive, huh?
Well, you know we always love a good drive...so let us know what plans everyone decides on, and post them up...
I think it would be nice to do more drives, as weather permits, etc. I am just not sure how many we'll be able to be part of, since we live so far north, and we can't always go on the ones that are so long (since we have our dog at home to worry about).
Great ideas though...let's build on this!
