NOPI Car Club Registration
#21
WEll, I have Corporate's ear. I tried to get them to switch the weekend they were doing their tent sale. But they said no. So I told them most people would be at NOPI and they would get killed for a successful event. Last I talked to them, they werent have any car shows with the Denver Tent Sale, because U.P. was suppose to produce them but we are not.

Everyone - FYI
I just received a reply from Mark Smith, Event Coordinator and Exhibit Manager for NOPI, and he says we CAN leave the cars overnight and there will be security, but we can also take them with us and bring them back the following morning. They will NOT, however, quarantee the same parking spot as the previous day (first come first served).
He also confirmed that each registered vehicle receives 2 weekend passes to the event.

Pre-registration ends on June 18 (Monday). You save a few bucks by pre-registering in advance.
$65 pre-regiater (includes 2 weekend passes)
$75 at the gate
The classes are kind of weird. The Street & Custom Scion/Toyota/Lexus class lists the xA and the tC. The Street & Custom Crossover class is where they have the xB listed - along with Matrix, Vibe, Protege 5, Outback, Caliber, PT Cruiser, HHR, Edge. Does that mean the xBs have to go in that class?

Today is the last day to pre-register. I'm gonna ask again - What class are the xB's gonna sign up for? Scion/Toyota/Lexus or Crossover? If I had to decide for myself I would choose crossover, for two reasons:
1. The competition in that class would likely not be as heavy, and
2. That allows the tCs and xAs to potentially have less competition.
Doing it this way could possibly allow the club members to bring home more awards instead of lumping us all together in one class. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Yeah Mike that's good thinkin, I would stick to the way NOPI has the cars listed on the registration site anyway, because you never know when they'd move you into that class anyway once you got there

Yep...I noticed that too! LOL
Hey, on their main shows page they show a picture of an xB in the crossover category too...maybe that is the best way to go...that way at least the B's might have a chance to win something at NOPI! LOL Just kidding! (I know the tC's have no chance, but the show should be fun anyway!)

I just got a call from Mark Smith from NOPI and he asked if I knew anybody who would like to help out with the drift event this weekend. They would get free admission for the weekend and would do stuff like picking up knocked over cones and stuff like that. If any one is interested or know someone who might be let me know and I will put you in contact with him.
