Judging Criteria

Here are some things to remember to remember with judging:

1. Participants change/substitute cars and it's not always caught on the judging sheet, confusing end scores and driver names. Help us by keeping your paperwork straight. We know people flake or little green men sabotage your ride the night before a show, so we'll do our best to accommodate your last minute changes.

2. Bigger car shows like Hot Import Nights, Dub or Extreme Autofest run their events for 7+ hours... we try and get it all done in six of less not including move-in time. We will do our best this year to make sure that the judges are consistent and stick through their entire category.

3. We give considerable props to those drivers who work performance and functionality into their cars, while maintaining a quality ride. Cleanliness is also a major factor. You can have all the go and bling in the world, but if there are old french fries under your seats, wrappers on the floor, weeds in the motor or undercarriage you are going to lose major points. Up to half of each judging criteria is based on cleanliness; this includes the cleanliness of the install job.

4. We specify the criteria and range of scoring that all the judges are required to use. There is no one category that will win you a trophy. If you have a $10k paint job, but no engine work or suspension, you could quite possibly lose to a guy who has a dent on a quarter panel.... but has a beautifully built engine, full suspension, custom roll cage, and a sick set of wheels. You would lose points for no engine work and he loses points for his dent. It's the sum of the total, not the single criteria. Moderate modding all over can overcome a couple of fearsome mods.

5. Yes, it's just a car show, and that its suppose to be about enjoying something with fellow enthusiasts and having fun, not who has the most mods or biggest rims. At one point or another we all feel that we've been on the short end during the awarding of trophies at car shows. We apologize profusely, in advance and the past, for any hurt feelings/egos.

Scoring will be based on the following criteria with a maximum of 220 points total. Subject to change. Check back before each event for any changes. An actual judging sheet maybe available for viewing at a later date as well.

* Exterior Body Modifications (40pts max)
* Paint (20pts max)
* Engine Compartment & Performance (45pts max)
* Undercarriage & Suspension (30pts max)
* Wheels/Tires (20pts max)
* Interior (35pts max)
* I.C.E. (In Car Entertainment) (20pts max)
* Overall Presentation (10pts max)

If you have any questions, please post them here or email them to us at events@unifiedproductions.com

One more thing to remember about an indoor event is this:

ALL VEHICLES COMING INTO THE BUILDING MUST ONLY CONTAIN ¼ TANK OF GAS AND THE GAS CAPS MUST BE TAPED SHUT. ALSO, THE BATTERY CABLES MUST BE DISCONNECTED INSIDE THE BUILDING!! THIS IS FIRE CODE MANDATED BY THE FIRE MARSHALL.

One other question...
We heard that you were asking that people move cars in the day before the show, and leave them over night...Is that set in stone or can that be changed?
I know for a fact that if it is a requirement to leave vehicles over night, that ALOT of possible entries will not be showing up, due to that alone. That show place is NOT in the best neighborhood, ya' know? (even indoors, you can't always trust the help)
Also, a bunch of our club members would be driving down from Denver IN their show cars, and would not be planning on the expense of extra transportation to a hotel, or the hotel expense for the night before the show...not to mention leaving their "babies" all the way accross town like that.
So, is there any allowance for the cars to arrive that morning instead?

This is a quote from the lady Im in contact with there who is also in charge of events and making sure everything runs smooth.

All of our buildings are locked down at night. If you have a concern in regards to our park we have NEVER had anyone break in and I have been with the City for a total of 12 years. We turn a report into the Greeley Police Department every week and they are aware of all events taking place in the park.
There wont be a problem leaving vehicles there. There are several car shows a year and with the quality of vehicles at these shows, you would think there would be issues, but there isnt. I only have 2 extra hours in the morning. I cant even get in the place before 10am. The show is from 12-4 and we have to packed up and gone by 6pm that night, so as you see, there isnt a lot of time to work with. I was trying to setup a pre-party for the night before for entrants up in Greeley, but no venue wanted it, thats why the late start. As for the hotel, thats to let people know they dont have to drive back and forth to town 4 times that weekend.

The best I can do is maybe 10am on Sunday, but judging needs to be started earlier then noon, especially if the place is filled, so that we can be outta there by 6pm.

Aside from that, how many indoor events do you see in Denver? With any indoor event, regardless of location, the move-in for these will be the night before. There is a show this week at the National Western Complex with 500 plus vehicles easy, and their move-in is at least Tuesday and Wednesday nights. The show is Friday-Sunday.

You're welcome. So if you are pretty adament about not coming up the night before, then the best I can do is a move-in from 10-11, so you'll need to be there by 10 and ready to show by 11. Judging will begin at 11, maybe earlier for those there the night before.
