Rocky Mountain Scion Club

I guess my assumption that spectators would go to a car show to see show cars and not stock cars is one sided.
Going to a show to represent a car club's numbers adds a whole different spin. Top that with the social interaction and I could see why folks would go and show, either heavily modified or stock.
Two sided arguement but in the end, its your day to spend as you like.

I just don't think it's right to discourage a guy, who is already on the fence about coming out to a show with limited/no mods, by saying something like:

How would you have preferred that I would have worded a question, that I had about my own vehicle, to have not caused anyone to assume i was trying to discourge anyone but instead, was just asking an honest question, asked by someone who has never been involved in a show as a participant?
But maybe you are right, I shouldn't have asked a question that lead to very good, club building type answers. The answers given had made me consider entering my near stock vehicle into the show, not because of what it has, but because of what it represents RMSC has.
I honestly hadn't even thought about the true social aspects of entering a show as a club member. I was only thinking of it as an individual entry in a contest. A contest I feel my vehilce would not be qualified to play in based on its only minor modifications. If you take the individual contest out and add the social in, the entire game is changed.
If you take a moment to see the show then as a team event, you should feel honored and almost required to participate in the show to show your support of said team.
But alas, I am merely a new fish, maybe i haven't earned enough stripes to ask questions yet...
P.S. - If i imagine myself (prior to being involved online here) as the newer owner of a scion that I am, walking through a car show, sun shining in my face, cold overpriced coke in one hand, bag of schwag in the other and I stumble across a row of 5 highly modified scions with a RMSC banner hanging from a Jimmy Johns tent, I might think to myself, man, I wish I could join those guys but my car is not near modded enough for that group. They are far too cool for me..
Same scenario but now their are 15 scions, ranging from highly modified to bone **** stock with chrome license plate frames, lots of activity as the owners laugh and chuckle amongst each other, high fives and hugs all around, that scene makes me think I could and would like to join that group. Hang out with those cool guys (except for the loud one wearing the sunglasses, he scares me), maybe learn a thing or two...I might, just maybe, stroll over and see what its about, maybe ask for a sandwich coupon and a question about what RMSC means.
Being a part of the second scenario sounds like fun doesn't it?...dang, there I go with the questions again. lol.

Oh, I thought you meant me!
This is all getting too serious for a Scion club. Let's all pledge to have a group hug at the next meeting cus we're all good enough, smart enough and gosh darn, we like each other!

Pfft..nothing but love and jokes from me. I just like stimulating conversation. if I'm not messing around with folks it means I don't think they could take the joke. ;)
