Yahoo has a story up right now titled "10 cars that can last 250,000 miles (or more). Both the xB and xD made the list.

No I've been losing cooling fluid since I got the car and the leak finally showed it self. What recall?

It's either a recall or a problem all dealerships or aware of. Basically your water pump leaks and sprays a little bit of your coolant into your engine bay and you end up with little droplets of dried coolant on the inside of your engine bay on the passenger side. You usually see it on the inside of your hood as pink spots.

It's not a recall, the dealers know about the problem but toyota won't acknowledge it as a big enough problem to do a recall.

So far, I've read on the forums that our bullet proof xBs can have bad water pumps, piston rings on the 2008's (if I'm remembering correctly) and master cylinders. Otherwise, they will last until the end of time.

Haven't heard about piston rings or master cylinders. Water pumps yes and there was a recall about the spark packs(coils). They overheat and cause the engine to stumble at idle when it's hot. I still yet to take mine in to have them replaced. It only does it every so often and I'm weird about having a stranger poking around under my hood.

Good catch! I forgot about the coil packs. Overall my cars live a charmed life so I'm not overly concerned.

I was in Ft Collins this afternoon (as I often am on Saturdays) and the highway was just fine both ways. Hopefully it doesn't snow too much tonight. I have a church thing until sometime around 1130 or 12, but I will be heading down after that. I'm hoping that the new 2014 Volvos are on display.

Edit--- I will likely drive my XC70 if conditions are nasty, I like to keep the magnesium chloride off the tC.

At 10 is where we're meeting up to roll together then we will formulate a game plan. When I made the FB event we didn't have a plan yet but now we do and it wouldn't let me change it.
