Default Tragedy Strikes...

I was disrupted by the neighbor guy downstairs while putting my eyeballs, I mean contacts, in at about 6:50 this morning to find out that my tC has been broken into.

Sure enough, my driver's door was open, the driver's window busted out and my cd player stolen. Yes, my beloved H/U that helped bring home the trophy had left the vehicle.

In the process, those jerks had rumaged through my glove box & the center console and left a mess (not to mention there's already glass everywhere). It doesn't appear that they've taken anything else.

6:53am....call my boss (crying) "I might be in later"
6:55am....call 911. I'm sure you're not supposed to do that for these cases, but I was frantic.
6:57am...call parents and cry some more.
Wait
Wait
Neighbor girl comes out, they go her car too, but nothing was taken because she's not nothing in it. She calls her mom to get the non emergency number, and we call at 7:40am...deputy is on his way.
Wait
Wait
8:25 deputy shows up. Told me that 1. I ws the 8th car this morning & 2. he'd send the Crime Scene Tech. out to finger print the car; he believes we'll have some luck.
I had to come into work for a conference call, but that's best, otherwise I'd just be sad at home!
Burt Toyota wants $404 for my driver's side glass...umm, no thank you.

Matt stayed with the car while the CST dusted the car and it sounds like he got some good ones. In the mean time, I have no tunes, or window, or tears left. I guess USACi World Finals is out.

If you know anyone (I also need a windsheild) who does glass, let me know. I'll also need to tint the new piece.

Talk about being violated! Holy cow, if you can't buy something, that doesn't mean take it from someone else!! *UPSET*
We'll post pictures soon.

Sorry to hear that! My car was broken into multiple times when I lived in Baltimore... I called 911 everytime lol. At least they dusted for prints... I never got that lucky! Good luck working everything out.

The cops DID get lots of "good" fingerprints. The Clarion is useless without it's external power supply that they left in the car, so Matt and I are keeping an eye on ebay and local shops.

You should probably remove the IASCA stickers. I learned the hard way not to advertise. It makes the job easier for those little a**holes.

The 17th & 18th are USACi Finals in Omaha. Not going to have the opportunity to defend my title!
Glass is going to be pretty pricey from the few quotes I've gotten. Dirty rotten theives!!

I'm not sure of what make/model all the other cars were; my neighbor has a Nissan Maxima that had the small rear side window broken.

Ed - you've got a voicemail...Thanks a million!

Gman - I have a $500 deductible so I think I'm on my own for this one (window & CD player), and since my speed-demon days are over...my insurance keeps dropping and I'd hate to take a few steps up in price by reporting this.

Unfortunately, if you're in car audio long enough you get your share of bad luck...any time you invest in something long enough someone tries to grab your good work or nice equipment!

I guess I'll have to start shopping for a new H/U...hopefully something new & exciting to show at MCs sometime soon!
