Default --==June 2, 2007 Scion Charity Event In Orlando==--

I met the marketing director of Chick-Fil-A and she wanted me to guage interest in how many Scion Owners would attend a Charity Event for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life hosted at the Kirkman Chick-Fil-A.

What can I expect?
Scion owners will fill the large area of parking hosted by Chick-Fil-A towards the evening hours. Ideally from Dusk to Dark. The Chick-Fil_A will provide Scion Owners DEEP DISCOUNT on Food and Beverages. We may be able to get a DJ for music entertainment.

What will this cost me?
Cash donations will be accepted from $1.00 and up. You can even collect money from friends, co-workers, classmates, and etc.

What's in it for me?
Since this is a charity event, Chick-Fil-A will be marketing the event in their stores and will send the information to their main marketing offices. A press release will be sent out to local newspapers, radio stations, and news stations. There is a high probability that there may be photographers and camera operators taking pictures and filming the cars. You will also be a part of scion owners giving back to the community and showing their cars for a noble cause.

My car isn't really show worthy...Why should I go?
This event is geared towards quantity. The more cars...the better. It doesn't matter if you are stock, slightly modified, or mega-modified.... bring out your scion and wear your swag. Every dollar counts and every dollar is important. I know many of you are strapped for cash..... but anything you can donate will help the cause.

Is this going to be a trophy based show?
Not necessarily. Chick-Fil-A has agreed to purchase trophies for us, but I told her to place that idea on hold. I suggested prizes/thank you gifts for our owners. The Chick-Fil-A cow should be there and will be handing these out. There may be a special gift for the person who makes the most generous donation as well.

So why the poll?
The marketing director asked me to poll our scion community to see how many people would be interested in attending. This number will help for the press release and draw much more attention.

If you have any questions/comments/or concerns please post here. I know many people have been looking for a non-competitive show..... this event is charity based and all money donated will be going to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.

i really go out of my way for the amaerican cancer society. My dad had cancer of the esophagus several years back, and the ACS provided all sorts of things from counseling for me (having my dad tell me that he only had 2 months to live according to the doctors when i was only 12 sent me into a deep depression) to drug discounts. i really appreciated all that they did. my dad is doing just great now, but i still like to help out any way that i can.

i'll definitely be there.

I think all of us have had a family member, or two, or three with cancer. This is a great cause, and we should show our support. Even if they didn't survive, maybe this will help someone else make it
