Hey Denny,
Do you have a Wideband? If so, whats the AFR when your @ WOT and maximum boost? I'm fine tuning my fuel map

Everything in boost was at 10-12 afr, so thats why the engine sounded like it was choking and why the engine temps were so low.

I was able to correct it a bit, so now the afr is between 12-12.3, between 0-10psi.

I think the magic number is 12.5afr for turbo cars. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Air Temp and Coolant Temp are fine. Ignition timing, no pinging. I can't wait to install the thermostat, and a 50/50 mix of water & water wetter. No antifreeze for me =D

unless you have a built bottom end you shouldnt be running that lean at wot. 11.5 is a good afr to be at with stock bottom end. DONT FORGET TO PULL TIMING!!!! a good rule of thumb is to retard timing 1 degree for every 50hp over stock.

Yes thats correct. =)

14.7 is stoichiometric, perfect ratio for combustion to occur.

14.7 parts Air to 1.0 part Gas.

So if its 12.5 afr, that means 12.5 parts Air to 1.0 part Gas. Less air + same amount of gas = Rich

My idle in vacuum 14.7 afr, while in boost I ramp up the fuel mixture to be rich.

I would go leaner than 12.5 afr in boost, but that would cause my engine temp to rise. Extra gas in the chamber, has the lovely effect of cooling down the temperatures. Too much extra gas and you lose power.

All motor tend to go leaner than 12.5 I think like 12.8afr
I forgot where I read that, so don't quote me. I wasn't really interested in the all motor tuning part. When they tune, they tune it for maximum vacuum, in each cell on the piggyback/standalone.

Yea timing is retarded right now. I have a nicely sized turbo
http://store.forcedperformance.net/m..._Code=Turbo-FP

,big IC and a 3" turbo back, so that helps keep the temperatures down. Oh not to mention the hydra standalone ems. Full control, I love it, muahahhahaha.

Brett do you know what your exhaust gas temperature is at WOT & max boost? how much are you boosting?

I think I can pull off leaner than 11.5
Only because of my setup. If I were running a smaller turbo, smaller IC, and 2.5" turboback, I would run that rich. Either way, thank you for your input. I take other peoples opinion seriously. I also don't want to blow up my engine, lol. I want to see how the car performs on a really hot humid day here in miami. If I see the temps are too hot for comfort. I'll just tune it for 11.5

I just read your profile brett. Niceeeeeee setup!! Must be a beast, lol.

my egt gauge broke the day i put it in. it just reads all spastick, so i have no idea. if you wanna run 12.5:1 afr here in south fla, then you should throw dow a few hundred bucks for a water/meth kit.

p.s. any pics of your setup?

I have an egt gauge too. The sensor got all messed up when I installed it incorrectly on the manifold =(
SUCKS. I found one on ebay for i think 140 or 160. Its the defi egt. Now i don't feel so bad. I guess its sort of a common thing.

Yea i'm extremely interested in a water/meth kit. I'm planning on getting this one in the future.

http://www.elementtuning.com/Hydrami..._hydramist.htm

It works in conjuction with my hydra ems. So it can be tuned on its own auxiliary map on the hydra. When the water/meth pump senses a loss in pressure (from a broken hose/or low water in reservoir), it sends a signal to the ems, and it just runs off the base fuel/ignition map instead. Pretty sick poop. Some sti's/wrx's run it. +50 whp I believe, something along those lines.

I'll take some pix of my setup. I don't have any right now though. Your in wpb, thats not too far.

In the future I want to take my car to a shop thats done lots of engine work on scion tc's, and that those tc's are still working after taking it for a run, lol.

hmm, thats weird. I called them up
http://www.billetdesign.com/about-us-pg-2.html

and they said they don't do work on scion tcs. I guess I assumed your friend aj had a scion tc

Where did you get the work done on your car?

Not high profile enough? lol.
I think our cars are high profile enough =D maybe he just needs glasses, j.k.

You did all the engine work? If you did, thats pretty sick, you saved lots of money.
