if its not pushed in all the way it will leak... just FYI for ya sergio. did u check for a seal on the new tranny when u poped it on on the driver axle side.. i know it had it on the pass. cuz i saw.. but didnt see the drivers... u have push it in all the way then hammer on the grove on the axle inward till u hear the pressure pin pop into place. keep us updated.

I tried kicking it, pushing it, slightly tapping it in. Nothing worked.

Not to mention i'm extremely late to work.

So the car is ready to drive practically.

Do you think i'll be able to make it over there, if I just go through the street on not the highway?

Worse case scenario. What happens if the driver's side axle pops out of the tranny? Is it still driveable? I have some spare bottles of tranny fluid.

 

Oh, I don't think I ever looked at the tranny seal thats on the driver's side/axle area >.<

 

when poping the axle back in... 1 make sure the boot is not twisted and the splines in the boot line up (boot should look like the other one on the axle is theres a twist u need to pop the inner shaft out and align it..

to fully pop it in take your tire iron and a hammer and set it on the knotches on the inner axle (where i tapped with the hammer to pop it in)... tap that ____ in until u here it pop in or until theres a small gap on the axle and tranny..tug on the axle and make sure theres no play and it wont pop out. .if its sturdy ur good. but you do not want to loose that pin OR drive around at high speed or take any sharp turns.. if it pops u ____ed and have to jack up the car and pop it in again..

BTW when can i get my tools sergio.. the 2 jack stands and the tool box and hammer.. i need it for this weekend!!!!

So if you have a old high mileage motor....to make it brand new again you need to change out the internals and gaskets/seals right???

 

Well I wasn't able to pop the axle all the way in.

I drove to kiko's shop from my house. I was shi!tting massive sized bricks the whole way there.

I'm pretty sure all the bottles of tranny fluid leaked out. It would make a funky noise whenever I would take a turn, or hit a slight bump.

So I made sure and drive really slow, and take small turns.

Good news is I made it to his shop, *PHEW!*

The other good news is, when I was turning, I definitely felt a GIGANTIC difference in handling. The front sway is definitely worth all the time, sweat, cursing, bruises and cuts to get that b!tch in there.

I can only imagine how it must feel turning at much faster speeds. Denny to answer your question.... Yes get it, lol.

So now its up to Kiko to work his magic on my car.

He said he'll start on it tomorrow (hopefully thats true this time).

Oh I forgot to mention, even though the axle/tranny seal was leaking. The tranny we put in feels great. It feels like when I first got my car. Engagement is definitely x10000 times better than my old tranny. Clutch feels smooooooooth too (once I got to kikos it started getting a littler harsher, I assume from loss of tranny fluid, no biggie, easy fix).

I'll probably give them back to you on wednesday at the meet. I have to clean it up a bit, and put the stuff back in its place.
