Guys...i need some help. My pc died... (probably)* i need a (used or new ) single core p4 cpu 775 socket.

probably:

my pc started to restarting by itself.

i took it apart, clean it and put it back together.
it was good for 2 weeks, then it started again, played around with the rams maybe one of the rams is bad ( i have 4x 512mb)
but it wasnt the problem. i tried another psu, but it didnt help.
So now i ordered a new mobo (it was only 40 dollars and none of the big stores selling these mobos anymore ( newegg, pcusa,tigerdirect, etc) so i got the new mobo but when the "press tab or press del to enter setup" screen came up it restarted by itself for like 3 times.
i checked everything but it was fine, tried again and now the screen is blank....i dont know whats going on.. the only thing left is the cpu.

so, i want to borrow a cpu, or buy it if it turns out that the cpu was wrong. if not, then... i dont need the cpu.

i would say it would be easy if you could come to my house, i pay your gas

did you troubleshoot your video card?? thats what it sounds like to me.

my comp started freezing in the middle of anything at random times, i had 4 sticks of 1gb ram, turns out two of them were bad. your problem sounds like it video related though.

 

you could be right but if the screen stays black it doesnt mean all the time that the vga must be dead...

once my monitor was black and the problem was the memory.

now.. its not the memory and not the mobo. I dont think its the vga because it wont restarting by itself, especially not from the bios. And now it wont even turn on...
so it must be the cpu! But i want to make sure, so if you guys can help that would really good.
if not, im gonna take it to a little shop where they can test it.
But i would rather help you guys get ride of the cpu, if you guys want to sell it. Just understand one thing:if the cpu wont help, then i wouldnt buy it, because then i have to save up money and buy a brand new desktop computer, with dual core cpu and ddr2rams, etc.

 

when you start up the computer, does the mobo let out a bunch of weird morse code beeps?

 

no... nothing... if it would do it i would check which one is that.

i believe i connected the speakers correctly.
