Alright guys I need some help.

I changed the spring from 0.2bar to 0.5bar spring in the wastegate this last weekend.

I can finally boost above 0.5bar which is great.
The bad news is that I can't control the boost levels.

I've tried tweaking the settings on the apexi and it always overboosting. I've messed around with the duty cycle, and its still OVERBOOSTING

So then, I turned off the boost controller. To let the wastegate do its thing, and its still going above 0.5bar.

Any thoughts on this??

 

Correct spring?
Spring installed correctly?
Spring defective?

I dunno much about boosting, but those were the first things to come to my head.....cuz thats the only thing you changed right?

 

The only thing I changed was the spring.

The Tial wastegate originally came with the 0.5bar spring, but I changed it to 0.2bar because I didn't want to stress the engine until I got it tuned.

Now that its street tuned, it feels great. So I changed it back to 0.5bar spring. I'm pretty sure its installed correctly. I'm really breaking my head over this one.

 

sergio u should honestly just take it to a shop and have it done professionally, I'm sure all your bugs would be worked out

 

he needs to learn on his own trial and error.. when ____ happens and he has problems he needs fixed asap ... going to a shop might be expensive and he wont learn why ____ happens and how he can fix it himself or trouble shooting by having someone else do it.. going to a shop should be his last resort.. sergio i think you should try to keep alot of you FI ?'s in the FI section though i think you will get fast responses there then here though.

 

I'm going to try and figure it out after work today. The only other thing I could try is remove the boost controller solenoid physically, and see if the wastegate is doing its job. If the problem persists check the vacuum lines.

If its still overboosting, im gonna take it to a shop tomorrow, because I could easily blow my engine right now @ wot.

I like searching on scionlife and google a poop load, before I ask for help. I'll try a couple of thing later today before I give up, and take it to a shop tomorrow.

I usually ask on here once i've exhaust my resources, because I know that a lot of the people that go to the meets are pretty knowledgeable.
